No broken ankle?? That's great news seed! Look at it this way...if you did have a broken ankle and they had to do surgery, you might have missed your trip to Texas altogether. At least you still get to go, even if it is with a walking boot!

Make the best of the situation and have a wonderful time in spite of the obstacle! Smile

Prince
Just as well you don't fly Qantas to India - too much to look at - no time for sleeping! (bit difficult flying Q to India from London!)

When are you going to tell your family about us? Twisted Evil

Good news that the ankle's not broken.

I'm grumpy, mostly. Went on a long trip to Texas to visit relatives that was actually quite nice if not particularly restful -- there were very restful aspects to it (especially, sozlet running around with her little cousins and not needing much attention) and unrestful aspects to it (sleep was elusive and required a lot of managing, including me sleeping on the bare carpeted floor a few nights, lots and lots of talking/ lipreading which is always exhausting even when enjoyable, etc.) The main goal was for the kid to meet her cousins (2 years older, one year younger) and spend time with them, and that went great.

Current grumpiness is just dealing with post-trip fallout -- sozlet was playing with kids her age pretty much every waking moment while we were there, and now she's not doing very well with usual routines/ entertaining herself. Then also, neighbor stuff. I asked north neighbors to look after the yard, water it if things look too desperate. South neighbors, who are of the "everything clipped into perfect cubes" school of gardening, have been giving me unsolicited advice since we moved in ("you want to get rid of all of those suckers on your lilacs", when no, I wanted to keep some so it would fill out and not be the pitiful naked thing with a few branches at the top, etc., etc.), and went to town on my yard while I was gone. :-? North neighbors said that every time they came over to water, it had been done already. But not just that -- they WAY cut back my vinca, pulled up some plants I didn't want pulled up, and generally messed with things way more than I am comfortable with. I keep repeating "she thought she was helping she thought she was helping she thought she was helping" but I'm pissed.

But then, still feeling grumpy. The arms till hurts and I am a bit feverish. On top of that, had a date last night (after years) which was disastrous.

I have given up. No more dating for me

Good morning Olga, my lover (don't worry, this is a normal affectionate greeting in Devon, like my dear!)

Feeling good and resolved to get this house in order now the roof has finally been fixed! (But since the roofer put a foot through the ceiling, it's not completely finished Sad )

THE ROOF IS FIXED! Wonderful, Clary! Very Happy What a blessed relief. Too bad about the ceiling, though.

Tell me more about these affectionate greetings in Devon! Do outsiders get bewildered? Laughing

Prince, my dad used to tell me:"Do you know what a soldier does when he can't march any more? He runs!" Somehow that always worked for me. You're too stellar to slouch down and give up. We believe in you. We all have to have our downs so that we can appreciate the ups all the more. Hang in there, the day will come. Soon.

If we all spelt God Good, there would be no problems between different religions. How could anyone argue with the supremacy of Good?
