@Baldimo,
Don't ask me, ask your conservative corporations who have bribed the GOP why they exploit illegal immigrants by paying them near nothing and extracting taxes while they threaten them with deportation.

And you think these greedy republican$ care about YOU?

If they will do this to those among the most vulnerable in our society they surely have no love for you.

They love one thing only... $

Remembering Amelia Boynton Robinson--the civil rights legend and freedom fighter passed away today at the age of 104. She was the first African-American woman and the first female Democratic candidate to run for a seat in Congress from Alabama. She played a significant role in 1965's 'Bloody Sunday', among those attacked by State Troopers while crossing Edmund Pettus Bridge while marching for voting rights in Selma, AL. Earlier this year, she was invited to the State of the Union address.

You didn't really need any help. Everyone sees through you almost immediately, but you're welcome.

i don't spend as much time on A2K as i once did, some post here seem to indicate that Cobbler is someone named Rex, do they mean RexRed?

while looking to see if i could determine this i came across this quote

TheCobbler wrote:
I myself only require a meager lifestyle, I am perfectly happy driving a rice burner (don't currently own a car, I walk everywhere)

so black lives matter, but using a slur directed at Asians seems to be just fine

@snood,
To me it means a compact inexpensive car with no frills.

Looking it up on Google I see it is to some an offensive term (which I was unware of).

We live and learn.

I guess Japanese cars and motorcycles were once stereotyped as small and compact. (Honda versus a Harley)

I am not sure why it is offensive but it if offends some then the term has no use in my vocabulary.

Thanks for bringing that to my attention Snood. I won't use the term anymore.

The English language is riddled with so many hidden racist slurs.

I will rephrase that, a cheap no frills car that can barely do 50 MPH.

I thought it meant it was so cheap it would run on rice.

@djjd62,
You are just looking for anything to put me down, well, I hope insulting a gay man as myself is giving you a charge.

Does it make you feel better about yourself?

@HesDeltanCaptain,
This is the height of stupidity, what a worthless person you are.

Egypt was the greatest ancient civilization ever, ruled and built by "Black people"...

Think about that for a moment.

@TheCobbler,
How about those like yourself who won't let us seal the border? Policies by Obama have made the issue worse and given illegal immigrants the idea that they can control our immigration laws. How many EO/EA has Obama passed on immigration? You can try and blame the GOP and all that, but those very same business's pay Dems for the very same reason. It's all a fucked up game and both parties are at fault. People such as yourself don't help the situation by claiming illegal immigration does nothing bad to our country.

@snood,
Rice burners,I have always heard it referenced to cars built in Japan. Rice rockets are motorcycles built in Japan. As far as I know, it has no derogatory meaning against asian people.

@TheCobbler,
What does you being gay have to do with what he said? Looking for more of a victim status? That's a stupid cheap ploy to try and gain sympathy because he called you out for what you are. Transparent. You further prove it with this stupid mention of being gay. You do realize that a vast majority of us here at a2k could give to shits that you are gay. Good for you, get your gay on but stop using it as some sort of weapon and or tool. It's really quite lame.

@TheCobbler,
It was worth looking up eh.

I didn't know that it was considered an insult either. Don't know that I've ever used the phrase but I used to hear it back in the 70's/80's.

@snood,
it's slang for a japanese car, growing up in an automotive driven economic area i heard it a lot about 40-30 years ago, it was mostly used in the sense, "those damn rice burners are killing our jobs"

it might not be the most offensive thing one could say, but i never heard anyone call Volkswagens "sauerkraut burners"
