I don't feel the need to prove I'm female, nor do I think it is helpful to pigeonhole each other on the basis of gender.

One advantage of internet anonymity is that we could be largely free of the physical baggage and restraints of gender, race, appearance, age, etc. in this virtual world, if we chose to do so, which would help to focus on our quality and substance of thought, and our individuality, and not on how we can be categorized.

I'm simply quoting whitebars--"she" is the one who leveled a gender-based insult at you.


"Junk" is a slang term or euphemism for the male genitalia. It referred to what you offered to photograph to attest to your maleness--I was using the term accurately in the context of my remarks.

I called your defense of whitebars alleged knowledge of gender studies, "BS", in a single post, because I have first hand knowledge of the area from a very close friend, a social psychologist, who teaches in such a program as part of his course load, and his characterization of the material taught is definitely at odds with yours, and I defer to his greater expertise.

Those two instances hardly amount to my "kept calling" your posts anything. Stop whining. You're starting to sound like whitebars. .

These fools who go on and on about hate annoy me. Hate is a natural human emotion, and it is a very useful emotion. If we are traumatized because someone hates us then we did a very poor job of growing into adults, we should probably have a heart to heart with our parents.

And for the truly ignorant: Not caring is very destructive. Give me hate over not caring any day. But give me the real you, not the you somebody with power wants you to be. Have enough respect for me and for you (figuratively) to tell me what you really believe, who you really are. I have already way too many phony baloney people in my life, I dont need another one.

That's missing the point. One must distinguish between 1) hate based on an actual experience of evil, such as hate for mass-murderers, war-mongerers and terrorists, or in day to day life hate for a classroom bully, a mafia don, or corrupt officials; and 2) purely ideological hatred for entire demographics, whipped up by religion, racism, sexism, etc.

The former can be useful if it motivates you to fight against evil. The latter is baseless and destructive. What society do you get when all the men hate all the women and vice versa? What sort of society to you get when the whites hate the blacks and vice versa?A society of rapists and murderers. A society where people routinely enter a church or a school or a movie theater to spray bullets at other people. A society where cops can kill without retribution, until somebody starts to kill cops to even things out. And yes, a society where 6-yr-old kids can get expelled from school for kissing on a girl or touching a breast, because he is a sexual predator.

I don't care much for such a society. And not because I'm "traumatized because someone hates me", mind you. Rather, because I don't want my wife and daughter rapped, my son trashed and expelled by a heartless teacher, or myself killed.

In my mind, men need women and vice versa. Any escalation of the war of the sexes would send our societies to the dogs.

You have no business lecturing us about bipartism on the Bernie thread, about how it's soooo important for people to come together politically to get things done, if you think that hatred is hunky-dory. Let the democrats hate the republicans just like the republicans hate the democrats. Let the civil war begin, if baseless hatred is "very useful"...

Just saying, the love you give is equal to the love you get. Treat other posters nicely if you care to be treated nicely. It's all very simple.
