Dunno if anyone posted it but there has been some interesting exchanges.
From memory:
Someone asked Bush about comparisons between Cheney and Edwards, suggesting Edwards was more sexy, "nimble" and the like.
Bush said "Cheney can be president. Next."
Kerry, in turn, defended Edwards in a quote that made no sense to me (something about Edwards being more reasonable or somesuch as president than Bush, but the tenses seemed to imply Edwards had alwready been president...).
Anywho, Kerry shot back with an interesting one. Again, paraphrasing from memory, Kerry said "Bush is right to say that Cheney could be president from day one, that is what happened and what it has been ever since and that we need to change."
Not exact quotes, of course. But it was an interesting exchange. Bush suggesting that Edwards is not of presidential timber and Kerry suggesing that Bush is Cheney's puppet.
Odd and sharp exchange.
Your attempt to insinuate that conservatives are 'caring' is the funniest thing I've read all day, Timber.
I mean, we're not talking about a base of politicians that traditionally does a lot for those who need it the most here.

I concur with Craven's memories on the verbal exchanges. Pretty close I would say. The only thing I would disagree with is that it was odd
Cyclop, sometime on another thread we need a debate, with no personal attacks, on the differences between liberalism and conservatism and, while we aren't necessarily saying liberals don't have their hearts in the right place, why we believe conservatism to be the more compassionate and caring between the two philosophies.
Bush is a serial failure
The GOP is making a big mistake on trying to tag John Edwards with a lack of experience to be vice president.
Bush is a serial failure. He failed in every business he owned. He only partially succeeded with his football team with financing and management by others while he played executive.
He was elected governor of Texas only with the help of powerful friends. The governorship of Texas, unlike other states, is mainly a ceremonial position with very little executive power. Bush barely managed that position and he did manage to damage the state's financial future.
So all in all, Bush had far less executive managerial experience and, in fact, was widely known for playing the role of an executive who was a total dud at it. Bush was totally without any experience or interest in foreign policy when he started his campaign and he was a very slow learner and had not improved much by the time he was sworn in as president. Cheney recognized what a doofus Bush was and got him self appointed as vice president because Bush realized he did not have what to took to run the country. Bush is a Cheney puppet. Without Cheney, Condi Rice, Karl Rove and Karen Hughes wiping Bush's bottom every day the incompetence stench would be so strong the White House would need fumigating.
Bush's serial failure life pattern continues today. He is the worst president with the most corrupt administration in US history.
BBB
Bush should have pulled a mike meyers and said something silly like "You know he makes you horny, he's so sexxy!"
I dunno McG. Bush is getting rapped badly now by the far right for being complimentary about Edwards. If he declared Edwards sexy, they might lynch him (Bush).
Nah, the best retort would have been "Pretty doesn't translate into a presidential timber."
Or "That would be relevant if this were a beauty contest.."
Or somesuch.
Either way, Bush's was good, Kerry's was good too, and both were a bit sharper than they have been in the past to each other.
Well, they'd lynch him for being a homosexual, that's for sure...
Remember, these are the 'compassionate, caring' people we're talking about here....

Nonsense Cyclop. There are no more homophobics among conservatives than there are among liberals.

Actually, in my quote, I envisioned Bush saying that about Cheney...

Oh, my....
Can you prove that statement?
I think you would also have a hard time proving that statement, fox....

Insert your own caption here. I'll get us started:
"Show it to me again? Pleeeease?"

How many liberals in governmnet came out for same-sex marriage? Even Kerry is against it.
Do you smell something funny, Dick?

If Kerry gets into office and dies ( which is a possiblity, based on his medical history), John Edwards would be President. Since he's had little real experince as a CEO etc, who'll be around to hold his hand and tell him what to do?

I don't have to. I didn't make the assertion.
(In case anyone was wondering, this is the same thing as asking Iraq to prove they
don't have weapons of mass fantasy. Do you still beat your wife, McG?)

ROFL. That would almost be worse what with Kerry spouting off all over the place that Cheney is the one running the country. Wouldn't you know it? A couple of years ago they were complaining about the excessive displays of testosterone and now we're going to see their feminine side?
