Jespah you are correct. Bush did leave the governorship early to be President. Smile

You should do some research into how badly he screwed things up here before he became president, Fox.

I'll give you a soft lob: What state, ran by our Commander in Chief, started his term with a big budget surplus and ended it with massive defecits, and a reduction in health and social services?

That right there should have been an indicator to the rest of the country.... Sad

Back to the original question. As they say how will the experience factor play in Peoria?

And that's so much worse than a majorly corrupt Corporation head?

Face it. Next to Edwards, Cheney looks like the freaking DEVIL.

LOL, Cheney was a wyoming boy, son of common folk, who ACTUALLY WORKED AS A NORMAL ORDINARY MAN before he went into polotics.

That's right, Cheney did work as a lineman before getting his degree.

Compared to Cheney, Edwards bio is one of a pampered boy.

If he was doing so badly, it sure didn't affect his approval ratings Cyclop. And it looks like Rick Perry has continued the legacy Governor Bush left with him and is enjoying the same degree of popularity. Don't you think Perry will be re-elected?

You are woefully uniformed:

Quote:
Gov. Rick Perry's approval rating has tumbled to a new low.

More than half of Texans disapprove of the job he's doing, according to a Texas Poll released Tuesday. That compares to Ann Richards' negative reviews in November 1994, when 48 percent gave a thumbs-down to the governor who had just been defeated.

"He is in trouble," Cal Jillson, a political scientist at Southern Methodist University, said of Mr. Perry. "He's seen as more partisan than thoughtful."

WFAA--Dallas

Republicans are lining up to run against him: Kay Bailey Hutcheson, Carole Keeton Rylander Strayhorn (Cougar Mellencamp), and then there's a few fellas...

..what is it you are reading, anyway?

Not living in Texas (but I am just next door) I haven't read any recent polls. I have seen news stories of some good stuff happening under Perry's watch. And he did win the last election quite handily.

I would vote for Kay Bailey Hutchison (spell her right please) for GOD! If she's running she would be a formidable candidate against anybody.

She's an airhead. Just look at her hairdo.

She wears the same red suit to every meeting, every convening of the Senate. It could get up and go to the Hill without her.

And I'll pay attention to the spelling of the Head Cheerleader's name if you'll pay attention to what's going on in the world once in awhile.

What is this supposed to mean? She should worship at the shrine of CommonDreams and Micheal Moore like the rest of the muddled liberals? Please. When the liberal masses appear HALF as informed as Foxfyre, then maybe a stupid statement like this MIGHT be taken seriously.

Perry is still in for two reasons:

One, he has a long history of catering to some very rich and very special interests here in Texas, which just happens to provide him with capital.

Two, no-one worth voting for ran against him, and it's difficult to unseat the incumbent in that case.

To be fair to Perry, he hasn't screwed up too much more stuff (with the notable exception of the redistricting debacle, man that was some BULL SH*T if there ever was any) than Bush did while he was here - but he sure hasn't done anything positive.

How did that turn out anyway? When he started working on it, the GOP had 60% of the registered voters but the Dems had 60% or better of the districts. Some saw that as not the way it was supposed to be. Smile

Well, the whole case for the Repubs. here lies in the fact that we are talking about REGISTERED voters. There are quite a few people who register one way, and vote another.

And if you find the time to look at the new district map drawn up, you'd be surprised at how asisine it was done - I mean, they specifically acted to eliminate several democrats by drawing up districts that are absolutely crazy. I'll try and find some maps for you.

No need Cyclop. I believe you. It wouldn't be the first time a state was so gerrymandered it made no sense whatsoever.
