@ehBeth,
Hmmm..., wish I'd been around at the time. If you remember example threads & time frames I'd be interested. I wouldn't ask you to name names.

this isn't really the thread for that

As I said, only if they ask...
Otherwise, I only come for the funny memes.

But I do notice they don't hesitate to sound off on theists threads :-)

@Leadfoot,
Has an atheist or agnostic asked you to discuss religion/belief systems on this thread?

Set may feel differently, but I sure wish you'd have stuck with that.

You don't need to go back very far to answer that.

@ehBeth,
Not just arguing with us, attempting to shout us down, attempting to troll the thread in the literal sense of taking over the discussion to try to make it all about their imaginary friend all the time. Are they really so witless that they don't realize that we've heard it all before, over and over and over and over again?

I can't pretend to grasp this after my third glass of red after a hell week making an Oracle UCMS to Squiz migration at least partly functional but....

HISTORIC DISCOVERY: Physicists 'PROVE' God DIDN'T create the Universe
http://cdn.images.express.co.uk/img/dynamic/151/590x/origins-universe-physics-inflation-612340.jpg

The colossal question has troubled religions, philosophers and scientists since the dawn of time but now a Canadian team believe they have solved the riddle.

And the findings are so conclusive they even challenge the need for religion, or at least an omnipotent creator – the basis of all world religions.

@hingehead,
NOVA's a great program--but it's early morning here and i'm not going to sit through a two hour program right now. Thanks for posting this, though--i'll check it out later. In fairness, not all religions of the world posit omnipotent creators. In fact, a lot of cosmogonies sort of pick it up after the beginning. A lot of gods are inept, and most are indifferent to humankind. What we see here is the ongoing problem of westerners assuming a judeo-christian worldview when considering religion.

@hingehead,
Will someone PLEASE point to the place in that video where they said or even implied that "Physicists PROVE God DIDN'T create the universe". Watched it twice and still can't even get a whiff of that claim.

The Big Bang is kind of old news anyway.

@Leadfoot,
Why would there be anything of the sort in the video? That's not what they set out to claim. You theist types are the ones claiming that GODDITIT, so it's up to you to prove that he did.

@hingehead,
Sorry Hinge, I missed the link at end of the post. I see it now. But rather than prove his non-existence, it just 'proved' that God was a mathematician and not a superman.
Quote:

Asked if the remarkable findings and the convincing if complex solution removed the need for a God figure to kick start the universe Dr Mir said: “If by God you mean a supernatural super man who breaks his own laws then yes he’s done for, you just don’t need him.

“But if you mean God as a great mathematician, then yes!”

I kind of already assumed if he existed he would be good at math.

It is really bizarre how the holy roller loud mouths can't stay away from the topic of atheists. Leadfoot here is tedious because he flat ignores anything which is not consonant with his imaginary friend superstition, but expects to taken seriously. Of course, he's also a pain in the ass because he hangs around where he's not wanted, and where he's been told he's not wanted.

He is also a liar. He says he "has me on ignore." Yet he selectively responds to my posts, and of course, if he had me on ignore, this thread would not show up in his "new posts" listing. So, he's a liar.

Leaving aside the fact that I said, explicitly, that I couldn't grasp this with red wine in my system, I'd like to point out your apparent falsehood: 'I assumed if he existed'.

So you don't assume he exists?

@Setanta,
Naw, I told you I peeked. Took you off 'ignore' for a couple of good posts where you said substantive stuff for a change.

So ****'n sue me.

You're welcome on any of my superstitious, loud-mouth tedious, holy-roller, pain in the ass, liar threads. (did i get'm all?) I don't feel threatened by opposing views as apparently you are.

Besides, just pay-back for atheists posting on the theist threads.. (bring on those memes FBM!)

@Leadfoot,
You admit that you're dishonest--am i supposed to be impressed with that? You have all the debating skills of a kid in middle school. I don't feel threatened by anything you have to say--you're not threatening, you're just tedious, boring. All of use here have heard your bullsh*t over, and over, and over, and over, and over again. If you show up where you're not wanted, and, having been told you're not wanted, continue to stick your nose in, what kind of reaction do you expect? It's kind of funny and kind of pathetic--you holy rollers seem to have no problem with atheists coming into your threads. It appears that in your simple-minded conviction of your rectitude, you think you can deal with it--but you never do.

Just f*cking go away, you loud-mouthed, dull-witted jackass. You're not wanted here. If you want to see the "memes," you can do that without braying.
