I would vote for Hilary if it means the Democrats will win, however, I much rather would vote for Bernie Sanders. I cannot even fathom anyone in their right mind voting for the Republican candidates.

Perhaps you should fathom a little harder. I believe the evidence suggests a widespread public dissatisfaction with things as they are, and a very real possibility that the Republicans will take the Presidency.

@georgeob1,
Do you have a preferred candidate yet, George?

Maybe, but you have to wonder why. Six years of steady if unspectacular economic growth, two wars ended, none started, low oil and gasoline prices, unemployment 5.1% as of yesterday, considered full employment by the Fed, more Americans with health insurance than ever before. All of this is DRAMATICALLY better than the complete disaster that we faced in January of 2009 when the Democrats entered the White House. I meet people who think things are terrible but none of them can explain why.

@engineer,
It's not disgust with the last president or term. It's a pervasive disgust with the corruption in politics.

Then it is good that you have been at A2K where you have met people who have the ability to fully articulate this for you, since you have not been able to figure it out for yourself.

@Lash,
Reminds me of the time when for about a year the elite said " the little people say that things suck but the numbers while not great are just fine, the little people dont know what they are talking about."

Then they came out with " the great recession started 9 months ago. OOPS!".

I'm not leaving here because of you.

I'm not going to allow you to say whatever you please about me with no response.

So, stop making personal attacks against me so the membership doesn't have to see a bunch of bullshit strung all over these pages, unless you're obsessed, of course.

What utter bullshit. It must've made a bigger impression. On you than me - you remembered it, and I didn't. That's if it really happened at all. I have no problem not attacking you personally if you can do the same, including your little passive aggressive asides and innuendos. That's some sick **** Lash, trying to suggest I stalked you or something. Just don't say anything else insulting to me, and I'll do the same.

@snood,
If I'd asked you for a pic, you would've remembered it - and you know it, but never mind.

I agree to no personal attacks. I am concerned that you have a habit of trying to sneak the passive aggressive stuff and innuendo in. I ask you about it, and then the floodgate opens. I'm not sure you know the difference. Anyway.

I won't start personal bullshit. I hope you do know the difference in personal attack and questioning your opinion. I imagine we have more than a few sideline judges now. I hope so anyway.

I honestly hope this goes well.

Great. You start out by questioning my intelligence. I hope you know the difference, as well.

George, tell me who would you vote for? I know you're Republican but you have to admit that the current selection is a joke. Walker? He wants to build a wall between the US and Canada. Christie? He wants to bar code the illegals. Cruz? He together with Rick Perry share one brain cell. Jeb Bush? This country cannot take another Bush . Rand Paul? Can you spell tea party? Huckabee? Get real! Trump? Well, we know about the loud mouth who was born into money, otherwise he'd be sitting on the streets. Carson? He's a physician - they would eat him alive. The rest of the candidates have
such low polls, they never will make a dent.

So who is it, George?

@snood,
I only say this because you called me "very defensive" when all I was doing was talking about Bernie.

That is an example of personal.

I could as well ask you the same question.It strongly appears the country doesn't want another Clinton either, at least not the one being offered. I'm no fan of Ted Cruz or some of the others you cited, including Trump, however I note that your criticisms are grossly exaggerated (and you left out a few candidates). It's dangerous to become too great a consumer of your own propaganda - surprises often ensue. The Rebublican field is wide open (while the Democrats are paralyzed with a badly damaged annointed queen who is, once again, proving to be a lousy campaigner and whose self-absorption and lack of empathy are more evident than ever), and a loonie socialist from Vermont.

We're over 13 months away from the election.

I like my odds better than yours.

@georgeob1,
Yes George, I did leave some Republican candidates out, mainly due to their poorly poll numbers. I don't think they have a chance and Mitt Romney to the rescue ain't cutting it either.

You might like your odds better than mine, but I think we'll prevail this time again. No one gave Obama a chance - not the first time, and not the second time, but he won. I do think we're ready for Sanders. He certainly is intellectually way above the Republican candidates combined, you just don't like what he stands for. You're a Republican, period! I get that, but you're also old school and have made your gold when times were easier.
Now, you've got to move over and let the young ones get a chance.

The Guardian is carrying a report about the Snowden interview with Al-Jazeera

http://www.theguardian.com/...

In the interview, Snowden says he believes ordinary government workers who had made the same choices as Clinton did would be fired and prosecuted.

Clinton had said in the past that Snowden has inadvertently helped terrorists with his revelations about NSA spying, so there may be an element of "no love lost" there.

The best line is about Trump, who has insinuated if he were president that Snowden would be executed for treason.

Snowden's response - “It’s very difficult to respond in a serious way to any statement that’s made by Donald Trump,”

I wish our media felt the same way.

Interesting interview, worth your time to read the article and watch the clips over at The Guardian site.
