@ehBeth,
Except the delegates to the national convention will always be those active in a party. There is no rewrite that can change that because those that are pissed at the parties aren't going to show up at the party when the party makes it's selection.

Or maybe they will.

@parados,
You vastly underestimate the lengths Bernie supporters will go to. Watch the march on the mall in Oct for a clue. Those crowds are people who vote.

Hillary says she wasn't thinking when she got into the State Department. It was really busy.

That's ok. but we need someone who can think if they want to be leading the State Department. We REALLY need someone who can think if they're going to be president.

So, we do NOT need Hillary - the person who can't think - to be president.

That is all.

@ehBeth,
Many of these endorsements make up the Electoral College which include Senators, Representatives. The number 538 is the sum of the nation's 435 Representatives, 100 Senators, and 3 electors given to the District of Columbia. A majority of electoral votes (270) wins the Presidency. It is from these political figures Clinton has gotten many endorsements already. Nothing is carved in stone however.

You're damn right I have a problem with a poster referring to me as a Hillary-likcer aka as*Licker! I don't take kindly to spiteful posters like you; my stomach becomes queasy.

@korkamann,
those endorsements just aren't a lot of voters when it comes to general time

@parados,
there are not several hundred thousand delegates at the convention

but there are several hundred thousand Sanders supporters showing up to hear him speak

what are those people going to do when faced with Ms. Clinton on the ballot? some will vote for her. some will choose not to vote. some will choose to take their vote elsewhere. one or more candidates may choose to run outside the major parties.

everything could settle down to same old same old over the next 6 - 8 months. or not.

All that is needed is 270 electoral votes to win. It is the electoral college that elect the president although someone else like Sanders might win the popular vote, but the electoral college supercedes the popular vote.

@ehBeth,
I clicked on Beth's post, but this is a general statement. MANY Bernie supporters are coming in from the cold solely for him - and either will not vote at all if he's not the nominee - or may vote Green or Libertarian in protest of the system.

Surely, some may vote for the Dem candidate, but in this election - you cannot count on a secondary Hillary vote in MANY cases. I have MANY GOP people who are stepping over party boundaries to vote against corruption.

This one cannot be analyzed by old mores.

I'm not as anti Hillary as Lash, as in never voting for her if that is what I face, but I get Lash's view.

@Lash,
I think this is exactly what people raised on/stuck on party politics don't fully appreciate.

@ossobuco,
I appreciate the understanding. I'd vote for Joe in the general if Bernie didn't win the primary. I'd never vote for HRC. I'd also never vote for any of the current GOP debutantes.

Hard for me to believe that Hillary can recover: she's sinking fast and her efforts to contain the problem so far appear to be adding to it instead.

The so far continuing prominence of both Sanders and Trump continues to surprise me.

@korkamann,
270 voters is meaningless in the general election

I think that's what people have to get their heads around. Being the party's candidate is meaningless if voters aren't party voters - and that's what people on the ground - like Lash - are seeing.

I'm seeing it at FB. Non-Democrats supporting Mr. Sanders.

__

again, I've got no dog in this vote. Not American - and don't like any of the old (by age) candidates on offer.

It is not my desire to indulge in vicious responses with small-minded posters; just watch what you say when using a broad brush. Some of us don't care for your punitive tone of inflicting ad hominem attacks on Hillary's supporters.
