@blatham,
I think the most recent explanation is genius. Melanie speech had English words that most of us have used in our lifetime. The fact the were arranged in the same order with the same punctuation was simply bound to happen because those words are spoken every day by everybody. Move along folks, nothing to see here.
I think it was terribly irresponsible to send Melania out with a plagiarized speech. She was unnecessarily humiliated, and it smacks of sabotage. If it wasn't sabotage everyone should be frightened to their core that part of this great nation's population is willing to turn the leadership over to a bonafide moron.

@glitterbag,
Nope, just explain how data from the secure network got to the unsecured network. Since you have already stated in a previous post that the 2 networks are not linked, I find it interesting how the data got there.

@Finn dAbuzz,
Can you define "classic hysteria" for me?

@Finn dAbuzz,
Of course. My vagina has always been problematic.

Mind you, my reaction to Trump utterly pales in comparison to the reaction of a very, very long list of prominent (and well educated) conservatives. His fans are a different sort. Are you going to vote for him?

@glitterbag,
Melania is fluid in 5 languages. That alone should make her a darling of the American Left.

She got fed a speech that was, obviously, flawed, but she delivered it extremely well for someone who has had little to no experience with public speaking.

I can't wait for the Democrat Convention.

I fully expect all the people who impute every little problem with the GOP convention to the incompetence of Trump to do the same when it comes to Dems and Hillary

And I fully expect the NY Times to "fact check" every political diatribe against Trump.

Yeah, right.

Personally, I think it is hysterical, not least because coverage of the plagiarism completely upstaged the convention itself.

The utter incompetence of this campaign is just one of the elements which makes this cycle one for the history books. And there will be a LOT of them. For valid reasons.

Reacting beyond the realm of logic, fact and reason.

Good enough for you DrewDad?

That's possible, of course, but I don't think so. As I just wrote, this campaign is consistently incompetent in every aspect. And I confess that if I had been the proofreader of her speech I would not have caught the cribbing even though I heard Michelle's speech 8 years ago.

And yeah, I actually feel for Melania. I have zero reason to think badly of her and she got pooped on.

And double yeah on the degree of blind tribalism that finds so many republicans supporting Trump. Outside of the tribalism, it is beyond comprehension.

@blatham,
Why you want to introduce the fact that you have a vagina, let alone a problematic one, to this thread is beyond me. Get a grip fellow.

No, your hysterical reaction to Trump doesn't pale in comparison to the conservatives who are not his fans. That's simply BS, pure and simple.

I'm not inclined at all to vote for Trump (quite the opposite), but I'm not so pig-headed as to preclude the possibility that I might in November.

He has a long way to climb to get my vote, but it's possible he can do it.

But no such tribalism is involved in supporting Clinton?

Give me a break.

@farmerman,
Jailed?! She should be waterboarded with the liquefied scrapings from a blue dress then staked to an ant hill then handed over to Michelle Bachmann's adopted children for demonic evacuation then shot.

This implies that you don't have any problem what-so-ever with her record and what the Director of the FBI reported about her.

Is this true.

Just a small matter of the history of the term. Thomas Szasz The Myth of Mental Illness has a very good description of that history. You'll want to pick that up this afternoon.

Pleased to hear you have your doubts on Trump.

As to conservatives on Trump, I visit NRO and Weekly Standard every morning. I read Gerson whenever he has a column. I attend to a lot of conservative media every day. I am very well informed as to what these boys and girls have been writing about Trump over the last 8 months or so. I'm not much moved by your use of a term you don't seem to understand very well.

@blatham,
Your recent posts remind me of a time long ago when I was at a Matinee filming of a movie. 99% of the audience were young kids and so candy was flying and voices amplified. In the midst of this controlled chaos could be heard some kids shout out "curse words." What was extremely funny to me even then were two little girls shouting out "Make!" and then erupting in giggles.

This seems to be where you are with "vagina."

Giggling much?

So the Republican tribe is the Hitler tribe and the Democrat tribe is the Jewish tribe?

You can't be that moronic.

The same thing is happening this election that was happening in Obama's last run, against Romney. The mealy-mouthed conservatives hardly say anything at all laudatory or positive or supportive about their candidate. They just spend all their time on these threads trying to shoot the Democratic candidate down, and ragging on the liberals.

Tribalism perfectly describes the driving force behind Trump right now. There simply is nothing to sell him as the prospective chief executive of the most powerful government on the planet. Hillary has a lifetime of public service, with experience in the legislative branch, firsthand, up close dealings with making foreign policy and intimate knowledge of how the office of the presidency operates. Not to mention contacts and networks with which she will have a ready shorthand.

What does Donald Trump have? That he's a rich white guy.

Prove me wrong, you badass, gun and bible toting, gay marriage resisting, mealy mouthed conservatives. Start a Pro-Trump thread and extol all his virtues and strengths for everyone to see.

Blargh!
Quote:
But according to the Kasich adviser (who spoke only under the condition that he not be named), Donald Jr. wanted to make him an offer nonetheless: Did he have any interest in being the most powerful vice president in history?
When Kasich’s adviser asked how this would be the case, Donald Jr. explained that his father’s vice president would be in charge of domestic and foreign policy.

Then what, the adviser asked, would Trump be in charge of?

“Making America great again” was the casual reply.

He doesn't want the job of President. A lot of us understood this from the outset. He hasn't studied it, he isn't interested in it, and he knows almost nothing about it. Up at 5 or 6 AM for briefings? Having to sit and listen to someone else talk? He wants to be Pharoah.

As his ghostwriter for "The Art of the Deal" said the other day, he's a sociopath.

@Finn dAbuzz,
Call the people who carry out the people's business bureaucrats if you wish. I liked my work, and I'm sure you must have had some pride in whatever the hell you did to support yourself. I suppose in the super efficient, no mistakes ever made utopia you worked in, you feel comfortable assuming that your job was oh so vital. As far as staying off unemployment, congrats for a great job.

I must tell you that I was raised to value hard work and my Dad taught me that only a brass plated asshole would ridicule others profession. I can't discard those values, it's hardwired for me. That you can refer to folks as 'fringe' because you are clueless is on you.

Just i case I wasn't explicit enough, maybe this will help "Finn, you have mistaken me for someone who actually gives a healthy crap about what you think.
