You know it is sooo bad where I am that I am leaving just months shy of my five years. Really there is only so far that money can go. I cashed in on my stock options (just cleared in my account today). I have accepted a position elsewhere to start the beginning of next month and I have not yet informed my ungrateful company as of yet. I cannot wait to see their faces.
And speaking of being bad at insincerity. I don’t want a going away lunch. I hope I can gracefully turn it down. It’s not that a dislike so many people where I work, but I do feel it is a bit insincere as I plan on once I leave not to look back and I doubt there is anyone that I will maintain contact with.
I am 50 days away from having five years in this shithole. Heeheehee!!! May 1st, baby. May 1st.
At that point, all my 401k and other retirement money will be all mine!!! Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on how you look at it) I have been too busy planning my trip to Italy to really figure out what, if anything, will actually happen on May 1st, but if nothing else, it will be a point where, in my mind, I am free to leave this place. That's something at least.

So, Kicky, this is how bad it is here. I have a supervisor that reports to me. He actually pulled me aside about a month ago and told me he was looking elsewhere and wanted to use me as a reference. Granted I am trustworthy and open (of course to a certain degree), but can you imagine some one reporting to you telling you this. I told him just to make sure he is quiet about it and keeps professional and that he uses my home information only for any references.
Well, he told me today he got an offer elsewhere. He is putting it on hold as he has another interview and expects to know by Monday if this other place will give him an offer too. Looks like he will be giving his notice on Monday and I will follow suit on Tuesday. Should be very interesting.
Hehehe...sounds like that ship is sinking fast.
Wow, kicky, just 50 days! Even if you don't quit at the 5 year mark, you'll still feel better because you can at any time.
