I think most of us were exposed to the game of "pong" as our very first video game. c.i.

My first video game ever was in 1964 and consisted of only two dials, the left one and the right one. They didn't require quarters, which was good because I didn't have any money, but it was lot of fun anyways.
They lactated!
Can I still call it "pong" as long as I hit the two targets and keep it going?

Do you remember Winky Dink? It might qualify as the first video game. It was a dopey black & white TV cartoon in the 1950's. At a crucial point in the story, Winky Dink would need the children at home to draw in a missing item- for example, a bridge over a stream so Winky Dink could walk across. Kids were supposed to use crayons on an erasable plastic sheet that clings to the TV screen. But of course, some of us kids used indelible ink magic marker right on the picture tube...

Did anybody ever play Super Mario World all the way to the end of 96?
Poppa gave me money for winning and I was pretty young.
Those look tame beside today's Ps2's and Internet games, though.

Funny you should mention that game - I was just playing it for old time's sake. It's one of the best games ever. I've spent countless hours playing Super Mario World over the years...
But the first Zelda game for Nintendo was, is, and will always be the best video game ever.

"Monster Maze" on an old Color Computer.
What's even weirder is that I berated my kid brother for playing games when I wanted to learn to program it, and now almost 20 years later, what tops my Christmas list but this.

The very first Mario brothers game. I guess that would be Super Mario Brothers. We would always go to the arcade at the local quickie mart and play if we were good. I remember being just the right hight to see the screen and hit the two buttons, now is six or so. I also remember playing the Mario game where crabs and stuff would come out of the pipes and Mario would have to hit the ground underneath them to knock them out.
It is funny because I have never sceen in any quickie mart today a video game. Good times.

my first video game was probably mario brothers. i was like...3 or 4 years old so it must have been in 1990 or 91, so probably the first one. i remember trying to play it with my cousins and just barely understanding the rules, lol.

I think mine must have also been Mario Brothers - my best friend had a Nintendo and I would go over to her house after school and we'd play. She always won though.

First game? Errmm...I don't remember, but it was Street Fighter 2, Final Fight and Super Mario bros that made gaming a #1 hobby of mine for a decade or so, before music and movies took over to a large degree...
