It looks like we will be in the Radisson Country Inn and Suites, 7400 IH-35, for at least one night and possibly both, as we will have enough comps accrued to stay for free.

It's about 4 miles north of downtown, or about five miles from the HITL, where we all were last year.

Let's sound off again for attendance please:

The Ditties, the c.i.'s, shewolfnm and hub, BillW and Mrs. ... who else?

I have just made our hotel reservation at Holiday Inn, Town Lake, from October 22 thru October 29. It seems to be in a good location, and will allow us to walk to many of the important sites. My wife saved a newspaper article on the Austin bats, but seems to have lost it. Can somebody provide some info? Thx, c.i.

Try this, c.i.:

I also just discovered that the Texas Book Festival is taking place the last weekend in October (28--31). Sy Hersh, Kinky Friedman, Molly Ivins and many more will make appearances (here's their website).

Oh, what fun. I'm there with you, fill in the ephemeral suite as you wish.

(says she, who had a short but wonderful time in SF a few hours ago.....)

I'll be quiet, but I post to let you know some folks are following.

AAhhh.. crap.
Cant use the corporate discount on the hotel unless there are at minimal 7 UT employees on the register and there is some thing being shown / taught / etc... about the university.

Sorry. :-( I tried.

shewolf, Don't feel bad; your heart was in the right place, and that's all that matters in the end. Wink

It's the weekend after we are there, osso. I hate that I will miss it; Tartarin even e-mailed me to see if we were going.

OK; this is another sound-off for attendance. Who's in and who's out?

I saw him over the Fourth of July holiday. He was pretty sure he was banned from A2K. Just can't stop himself from reacting to some of the political slime. PM me, and I'll give you his e-mail address. He'd probably love to come.

I don't think anyone can PM yet, Eva.

I just clicked on your PM icon and got some cute Craven stick figures.

Would you please go to my profile and send him my e-address (or send me his, whichever you prefer).

I rarely PM anyone, so I've been outta the loop. Sorry. I'll e-mail BillW your address, PD, and ask him to contact you.

(Edit: Oops...your address is not in your profile, PD.)
