The other man - communication and insight

I just started having a physical/emotional affair with someone from my past. He knows my situation and is single. I love his company and being with him. I want to try to get a better understanding of what the other man thinks about or faces so I can make this easier. Do they get afraid to text or call at certain times? Do they wait for you to kind of control the relationship? Do they get jealous? Any insight is greatly appreciated.
