The Ultimate Party Drug

The party effects of Quaaludes aren't exactly scientifically documented, but reading between the lines of Jordan Belfort's autobiography (that's right, the Wolf of Wall Street movie is based on a real-life book), the high seems to be pretty incredible:

“All at once a warm feeling came rising up my brain stem, as a pleasant tingling sensation went ricocheting through every molecule of my body. The phone receiver was still at my ear and I wanted to tell Bo to have Rocco come pick me up at the Brookville Country Club, but I couldn’t get my lips to move. It was as if my brain was sending out signals but they were being intercepted—or scrambled. I felt paralyzed. And I felt wonderful. I stared at the shiny metal face of the pay phone and cocked my head to the side, trying to find my own reflection…How pretty the phone looked!…So shiny it was!”

Excerpt From: Jordan Belfort: The Wolf of Wall Street

Anonymous internet users also seem to have enjoyed the experience:

The first time I did my Quaaludes with my friend W at his house. We took one capsule each, which weighed betweened [sic] 400 and 500 mgs. Within 30 minutes we were feeling amazing. My friend described the feeling as Ecstacy without the trippy part. We both thought the project had been a smashing success.

But all the women pretty much claim to have blacked out.

@FOUND SOUL,
I cant see Cosby as a druggie. It sure looks like he kept a traveling pharmacy with him as a public service to his friends and as a rape tool box.

You will recall that I has a bad feeling about Cosby soon after this story blew up. The stuff being said about him ring true, and they indicate that he is one of those sexual predators that Firefly keeps yakking about. There are some, but not many. Cosby looks like one that operated for a long time, at least 20 years.

Furthermore I have a feeling that Camille knows all about this, and helped reform Cosby, and knows that he is no longer a threat. What is she going to say? Anything? I read someone claiming that Camille is the unspoken victim here, that we should all feel sorry for her. Very Very doubtful. She is almost certainly a victim to the same extent that Hillary Clinton is a victim....that is to say not at all. She knew before the rest of us, she helped him survive this, she never made a move to help the victims. That is my guess for how this is going to play out.

@hawkeye10,
I would imagine that she knew about his affair.. That's why he called it off. I have a feeling that she said enough is enough, you're a grown man now, a Grandfather, a Father, a Husband it's time to be one. I say this because he stated that he came to that realisation... I doubt she knew about the rest.

Today's story:-

Quote:
A former NBC employee and friend of Cosby who acted as his so-called "fixer" for years, alleged that the comedian paid several women off after he had slept with them. Frank Scotti told the New York Daily News that he helped Cosby pay several thousands of dollars to eight women at the end of the 1980s.

"He had everybody fooled," Scotti said. "Nobody suspected."

He provided the Daily News with copies of money orders Cosby sent to the women.

I did a lot of crazy things for him," Scotti said. "He was covering himself by having my name on it. It was a coverup. I realized it later."

Also this weekend, five of the 16 women who have publicly accused Cosby of sexual assault gave detailed and explosive interviews to The Washington Post; they include a former Playboy playmate who until now has never spoken about her alleged experience with Cosby. The women told stories of several sexual assaults, often preceded by Cosby allegedly offering them drug pills.

"[Cosby] came over to me and sat down on the love seat and opened his fly and grabbed my head and pushed my head down," former playmate Victoria Valentino said. "And then he turned me over. It was like a waking nightmare."

Cosby's attorney Martin Singer reacted to these new reports with more denials.

"What evidence does [Scotti] have of Mr. Cosby’s involvement?" Singer told the Daily News. "How would Scotti know if a woman was a model or a secretary? It appears that his story is pure speculation, so that he can get his 15 minutes of fame."

@firefly,
Thanks FF Smile

Was reading a full page article in the paper this morning with coffee. Whereby he did a skit (as they do) years ago, talking about, you guessed it, Spanish flys and girls... Funny how they tend to "state the truth" in a way where it looks as if they are against "what they are doing".. Will read that a bit later, work calls in a minute.

Last week, (Sarah) Silverman made another rape joke. It was a joke about Bill Cosby. She tweeted, “Bill Cosby gave me one of those ‘don't be dirty’ lectures but I was unconscious & he was talking about my a-hole.”

@hawkeye10,
Be sure to tell Silverman how much you enjoyed her "joke", then go into seclusion for about 5 months before she figures out where you live.

@glitterbag,
I have no idea what you are talking about...Sarah Silverman has made a fine career out of goofy raunch, she would no doubt appreciate the compliment of a laugh. I dont usually like her act much, but that was funny.

@hawkeye10,
No **** you found her sarcasm funny, you don't take sexual assault seriously, because you are a scum sucking creep. And you know exactly what I meant. You might be a sick f&)k, but you're not stupid. And just because I said you aren't stupid, please please please don't assume anybody, especially me, thinks you're smart.

a decent amount of funny

You could watch this show and feel good about America, even if you thought Reagan was out to destroy it, even if you thought greed was getting to be a huge problem. It was like going to church.

Quote:
Of course, that sanctimony contributed mightily to Cosby's crossover appeal. Part of the reason white audiences loved Cosby so much, was that his character Cliff Huxtable's upper-middle-class trappings alleviated white guilt by suggesting that we were in a post-racial society. Because sanctimony is a privilege afforded mostly to those who have cause to feel superior — and, as a result, it is not a trait typically associated with people of color — Cosby's smugness functioned as a form of whiteness. No wonder the show ran for eight seasons and was No. 1 in the ratings for five years straight.]

ya, that too. Boy oh boy were those Jello commercials smug. Cosby had the perfect brand for him to assault women freely.

@FOUND SOUL,
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2848073/The-one-woman-Bill-Cosby-admits-cheated-says-drugged-raped-got-PREGNANT.html

Quote:
Shawn Brown, then known as Shawn Byers, became Bill Cosby's lover
But the last time they were together he slipped something in her glass and urged her 'Drink, more, drink more'
She woke up naked in his bed and knew she had been violated
'Sex with Bill just wasn't mind-blowing because I wasn't really into him 100 percent'
Cosby admitted the affair with Shawn during a 1997 interview with Dan Rather
Shawn has no doubt that her daughter Autumn Jackson is Cosby's
Cosby denied it but 'every Tuesday a FedEx would come with a check for $750'

Quote:
Brown said Cosby and Williams, who she said was a few years older than Cosby, shared a marijuana joint as the room started spinning. 'I told them I didn't want any but I took a puff — but like Clinton, I didn't inhale, I just blew it straight back out.'

The two men went to play pool and she watched. 'I was sitting in this wicker chair, hanging from the ceiling. It felt like I was sitting way up high in the corner, that's how loopy I was — I felt like I was floating.

'I was in another world, it was more than drowsy, I knew that any second I would be out cold.'

Brown said she remembers nothing else until she woke up the following morning naked in Cosby's king-sized bed. 'I knew I had had sex. My whole body ached. There was no place that was untouched.

This is the second woman who has stated "another guy" was in the room, interesting though, neither have come out and questioned if they had sex with "two men".... after being drugged, I suspect if this occurred, that it would be in the back of their mind.

@FOUND SOUL,
This is so disheartening, on one had I hope it's a smut campaign , on the other, if any of the women who decided to finally tell their stories are lying, I'm devastated. If he did the things he's being accused of, I am appalled. I want it to be untrue. Oh crap, doesn't anyone have a moral compass anymore?

@glitterbag,
I was always quite ambivalent about Cosby, and I never liked 'the Cosby Show,' too bloody preachy for my tastes, but I know how you feel. I felt exactly the same way about Rolf Harris, and when I found out what he'd been up to, it was like part of my childhood was taken away.

@blueveinedthrobber,
The problem is this idiotic expectation of perfection, and intolerance for imperfection. Drugging them raping women is not ok, there needs to be punishment for that, but all of this whining "How could he! how could he be so evil!" has to go. If we can get over learning that there is no Santa Claus then we can get over learning that humans are both good and evil.

@hawkeye10,
Off course there is Good and Evil.

One might even say that "evil" knows how to hide very well..

One might say we are naïve to take things on face value only to be disappointed.

But then, that just points out which side we play.
