Ohhhh, yes (and, it is unconditional
)
Aw, that's nice, Bill! Thanks!

I know, I know, I know ......! <big sigh> I AM doing some super-duper, heavy duty thinking about the need to stop. But I doubt I'm at the same stage of determination as Bill ... YET!
(Great thread, Bill! You're an inspiration!
)
I don't remember being all that determined.
Ah, well, I'm not meaning to push.
Just support here for those who do.
osso
You gotta be determined to go through this a third time!
if you make it, we shall re 'christen' you
OCCAM 'Will' i am (i am)!
[mind you, to be sure you actually did quit, we will have wait till you 'kick off'; and if you stop smoking, that could be 'some' time!]
Last cig at 10:00 pm last night. Almost 12 hours... I'm thinking this would be a breeze if I could just sleep through the entire first week!
Get the patch, it helps..... Three/four days and you are over the mental thing. Ten days/two weeks and the physical is gone. The habit takes 2 months.
Good luck, Squinney, and..... where is our Occam Bill?
he's kinda busy!
he's got this carton of _____________s, and there's only two days left.................
Woo Hoo Bill! I was a three-pack-a-day smoker - I didn't actually smoke that many but burned up that many smoking and writing at the computer. I quit about 10 years ago and I did it cold turkey. Just threw the damn things away.
It was hell for the first week so be sure you have some way to stay busy for that period. Once the nicotine clears your system, things start getting better quickly. You'll have cravings that take you to your knees but they never last long, will quickly become less frequent and of shorter duration.
It is sooooo worth it. You'll have a lot more money and a lot more time and it's a lot more fun going to non-smoking restaurants.
And good luck to you too Squinney.
Wow, you guys are all too cool!
And you're amazing Squinney! I can't believe you moved up the deadline. I'm sticking with Friday, June 11th 2004. I just got back from a week in Wisconsin during which I told all my friends and family that they, like the Bear, can address me as Pussy every single day after Friday, June 11 2004 if it turns out I'm a failure (I can't let that happen).
Still plenty of room on this ticket for folks like Kicky, Dyslexia, Heeven, Setanta, Jer, Big Dice, Ms. Olga and everyone else who's been thinking about it (or not)!
Great job on the Avatar JerÂ… LMAO
Craven, no worries, I just heard my own voice while you were voicing your reasons for smoking is all (and I sounded a little crazy :wink: ).
Again, I want to thank everyone who's taken the time to wish us well! Hearing so many success stories is a wonderful thing indeed.
How you doing Squinney? Are you still holding out or do you need to rededicate yourself to Friday, June 11th 2004?
That last point was a beauty, Fox. I currently hate non-smoking restaurants!
Thanks again all you wonderful examples of humanity!
Wow, you're getting close! Squinney - keep it up!
I missed Setanta's post considering quitting - that'd be huge!
best of luck bill
when i saw the title "Craven and Bi-Polar Bear have inspired OCCOM BILL to finally" i thought the rest of the sentence would be something like "run around with boxer shorts on my head" or something close to that.
