Is it safe in here yet? (Looks around cautiously, quickly rattles off some answers then runs like hell)

Hmmmm - surprising they don't use this increased circulation thing more in anti-smoking ads!
I think that would work... and I wonder if it isn't why someone is so worked up...

dlowan wrote:
I always knew that you could "smoke your legs off", and that smoking could lead to impotence - but I just bet "don't smoke your dick off" would arouse (heehee) attention!
My Grandmother was told by her doctor to choose between her smokes and her feet. Doc was quite serious, and she never smoked again. She taught me to say "blow it my way".

Hmmm - I guess the penis is so well supplied with blood - and relatively close to central on the body - that circulation would probably not get compromised enough to require amputation - as it does for legs....
Please don't ever go there again. Please.

dlowan wrote:
Are you REALLY noticing "increased circulation effects" Bill? And Jer?
Absolutely... was one of the first things I noticed. When I mentioned it to my Dad he told me about a meeting of quitters at the V.A. Hospital. Apparently, a fellow about 90 years old stood up and proudly announced he had gotten wood for the first time in decades. I'm not making this up.

we may be onto a new marketing approach ... O'Bill could be featured in our ads ...
Do I get to stay dressed at least?

Eh, actually it works pretty good an stuff, Heh heh heh. Heh heh. Heh.

Sozobe: Cheese is a given. It looked damn good on you... and everyone else you put it on too! Cool

Edit= Them quotes get confusing sometimes.

it was me who put you back over 50 percent O Bill Wink
been watching your progress since the start now and i must say im impressed Smile
i myself last quit smoking 7 months ago but ive given up before for 2 years once and then started again but i must say each time i restarted it got easier to quit again
i started smoking when i was 18 and im 33 now but in those 15 years i was quit for at least 5 of them
all i say is the moment you think its over and youll never smoke again the evil nicotine will jump on your back again so you can never beleive its over
and beware the six month and year relapses
most people who quit end up smoking again after 6 months or a year Smile
anyway i feel so much better without smoking and my wallet is healthier too Smile
i go to gym almost everyday now and my health is also a thousand times better than it was when i smoked also i feel like a great weight has been lifted off me all those years feeling not good enough unless i had a fag or a joint
it was rough man
now i have a great sense of being free from the craving and the desire its such a relief i can tell you
plus ive been thru so much suffering from smoking that i never want to go back there again
so good luck dude and im happy to hear your still nicotine free Smile

peace and love Smile

ps im sure youve been asked this b4 a thousand times but what does occom stand for or mean???

Thanks Col Man! Good luck to you as well!

Occom= the result of a dope who can't spell, referring to Occam's Razor, originally thunk up by William of Ockham.
Occom's Razor= All things being equal, the simplest solution has to be correct.

Col-

That is poetic justice. I wonder if herod smoked? It's not like it was beneath him to do thing's that would cause harm.

Posting daily gold stars for Bill, Jer, Heeven, and Smog. WTG Col Man. I didn't find it easier on subsequent attempts to quit myself (I quit a LOT of times) but then it wasn't any more difficult. I don't risk it anymore though because quitting is not the most pleasant thing any of us have had to do and I don't care to have to do it again. But as you said its a whole lot more fun being a non smoker.

Calling all newly non smokers-

How are the cravings?

Still there?

Gone?

Drinking and smoking go hand in hand, be careful if you bend the elbow.

I know alot of people that started back up because they were buzzed and thought it would be a good idea just to have one little ciggy.

Nods to all, keep it up. :-)

Cravings are nothing more than a reminder that I used to smoke... no biggie, no worries, no problems. Thanks for asking. Drinking without smokes? Don't know, still haven't tried. This has been the cleanest, most drug-free month and half of my adult life. I think I'm going to keep coffee, though. How about you other guys? Jer, you still the master?
