Thank you Edgar. So am I.
One week done. I now consider that ass officially kicked (though the cravings haven't stopped yet). The hardest question to answer remains; why did I wait so long to quit?
To all of you considering making this commitment... do it. I smoked over a quarter of a million cigarettes before quitting
And, that's no bull. It is already getting easier to not smoke. I do feel better. I do taste and smell better. My circulation is definitely better. And I'm only just beginning to feel the health improvements.
The stats are fun to play with too
and staggering. (250,000 cigarettes
) For instance; since I smoked 100s, they took just over 7 minutes each to smoke. Which means cumulatively, I've spent 3.5 years smoking
. Chain-smoking constantly 24 hours a day, it would take that long. 1/5th of my adult life spent smoking
not counting what it may or may not have subtracted on the back end
. If you are thinking about quitting, do the math for yourself. It's pretty scary
and frankly, quitting isn't as hard as it's hyped up to be. Don't get me wrong; it sucks, but not that bad.
It is important to remember; any discomfort you may feel is because you smoked
Not because you quit.
(that last line is priceless)
