If only we paid less in taxes we could fix more bridges. After all, private business does stuff all the time without getting paid.

What a grossly specious argument. The salient point is that not only do we pay too much in taxes, what we spend is squandered on BULL ****.

(Something with which you are obviously intimately aquainted with)

If you dont think you pay enough tax, triple your contribution so I dont have to pay mine. My Mom taught me not to throw good $ after bad.

Our current tax rate is near the lowest in the last 60 years. The corporate tax rate as a percentage of GDP is 1/3 of what it was in the 1950s.

As usual, I'll bet you can't cut more than 10% out of our current US budget without cutting the military or dedicated money that is taxed specifically. Although I do agree that much of the military spending is bull ****.

The U.S. total corporate tax rate is at 39.1 percent, the highest corporate tax rate in the developed world. The high rate reduces investment in the U.S. and costs American workers jobs and higher wages.

@giujohn,
Giu, if you're going to sever limbs from a social tree, the best you can do is have an explanation for each limb.

With no government there would be no legal system, and no need for lawyers.

Apples and oranges Frank. One is TECHNOLOGY, the other POLICY.

Not oranges and apples at all, John.

Both are just examples of questions that are silly and simplistic...which, of course, was my point.

I also dont believe that 10% of ones income is "a few minor taxes"And maybe if they just a wee bit less they wouldn't be so inclined to squander it on PBS, the environmentalist whackos and $3000 toilet seats, not to mention we might have to cut back on their salaries.

Yeah...you do not want to pay taxes if at all possible.

What else is new?

How are you going to build a road on land you don't own?

That 's a good point. I like it.
Note that I am not an anarchist, just a libertarian.
