A little off topic, but my son was telling me that he gets the Gameshow Channel. He said that in the middle of the night, they play really old shows. A few nights ago he watched "What's My Line", and "The Name's the Same". It's funny, those shows were so much more sophisticated and erudite than some of the stuff that passes for entertainment now. Remember Dorothy Killgallen and Bennett Cerf?

Good grief! That show was on for 17 years!

I remember them, Phoenix. Very Happy Do you remember I've Got a Secret? It was on for 24 years, with three different well-know moderators over the years. Steve Allen was a moderator for three years and Bill Cullen for the last year of the show. Do you remember the name of the man who was moderator for 12 years? I admit, I had forgotten his name.

Correct. Garry Moore was the guy. Each week there would be a guest celebrity with a secret. And there was that one about "animal, vegetable, mineral", but I can't remember what it was called. (lol)

Yes, that's it, Phoeniz. I had forgotten that the answer didn't have to be the name of a person. Viewers sent the questions in and if they stumped the panel, they got a prize. I used to like those shows. I think what made them so special was that we only had one TV at that time and we all sat down together to watch them, and munch on goodies and kibbitz. Very Happy

I remember those shows. Much more entertaining than most such shows. When I was 15 some people were trying to convince my mother to try out for Queen For a Day.

I think of 1981 as practically yesterday.

Having been born in the '50's, it sure seems like the '60's were a lot longer than the '70's and '80's put together. And the past 20 years have been like a couple of weeks. One more 'week' and we'll all be in coffins.

What member of a popular singing group of brothers co-starred as an Indian on a Western series on TV in the sixties?

ED AMES was Mingo - He also had a career singing solo later on. One of his solo hits: My Cup Runneth Over With Love.

Aaaah! You're too quick. (lol) Ed Ames did a song I really liked called "Who Will Answer". I haven't thought of that one in years.
