Just slow- sorry. Didn't click the link 'cause I'm stupid. I didn't realize IRM was a TV show. I knew it was a play and a movie.
What future teen heartthrob TV star and top-40 band member appeared on the Ed Sullivan Show the same night as the Beatles' debut? What was his act?
Davy Jones, of the Monkees. He was appearing on Broadway as the Artful Dodger in "Oliver!" and the cast sang "Consider Yourself" on the same Ed Sullivan program as the Beatles' debut.
Whew. I tried to Google it, but didn't get that far.
I've recently been listening to some old radio tapes of "The Black Museum", narrated by Orson Welles. According to the radio show, where exactly is the "Black Museum"?
Yup. Each week featured the story (usually murder) behind an innocuous object in the black museum, like a wine goblet or a glove or a bicycle tire.
I wonder if it really existed/exists today. Anyone know?
Who played Dagwood and Blondie on radio?
"Ah ah ah don't touch that radio dial. Listen to BLONDIE ..."
Penny Singleton and Arthur Lake!
I don't know either, Equus.
Didn't Arthur Lake and Penny Singleton start out on radio and then make the Blondie movies?
I thought I might make you think, since radio and movies didn't always use the same actors for the same shows.
You mean the one lives in a shoe?
"I'm Buster Brown. I live in there too!"
Unpleasant accomodations, to say the least.
I think I remember that ad from "Andy's Gang".
Andy's Gang originally had a different host and different name, at least on radio.
