The Clooney film was initially scheduled for Christmas release in the US. A couple of weeks before Christmas, George Clooney and the studio pushed it back to its February release. When movies are relegated to February (especially in this fashion, it means the studio has lost all confidence in the movie).
I was pretty excited to see the WWII movie until they bumped its release date. Still haven't seen it.
The studio is doing the same thing for the once highly anticipated Wachowski siblings return to original big budget sci-fi:

It was supposed to open 11 July 2014 (USA) along side the Planet of the Apes sequel but it too was delayed until February. The director is claiming problems with unfinished CGI effects.
