@BillRM,
David is a libertarian. There are certain differences between libertarians and some (if not many) of those who consider themselves to be conservatives.

You guys claiming to be freedom loving (libertarian) conservatives are very transparent. Kind of like the benevolent slave holders of the past. It's insulting.

Kind of like the benevolent slave holders of the past.

When are you going to grasp that people today are not responsible for the past, which seems to be the lions share of your liberal argument and bullshit.

@hawkeye10,
I love it Hawkeye and once more A&E jumped on the wrong side of this issue.

Cracker Barrel on Sunday reversed its decision to pull some Duck Dynasty-themed products from its shelves.
The popular Duck Dynasty television show and Duck Commander products took center stage in a controversy over comments made by Phil Robertson. As patriarch of the family and founder of the company, he stars in the A&E reality show based on his Louisiana life and company.
Cracker Barrel (CBRL), a chain of over 600 Southern-themed restaurants and stores, said Friday it "removed selected products which we were concerned might offend some of our guests while we evaluate the situation."
Two days later, it had evaluated the situation.
"Our intent was to avoid offending, but that's just what we've done," the company announced. "Today, we are putting all our Duck Dynasty products back in our stores."
It cited messages of support, including on social media, for Robertson, a hunter who is known as the Duck Commander and for 40 years has sold the duck calls he designed.
"You told us we made a mistake," Cracker Barrel said. "And, you weren't shy about it."
Within hours, a version of the announcement posted to Facebook had been shared tens of thousands of times.

Related: Duck Dynasty is a retail powerhouse
Cracker Barrel's website doesn't list the calls, which look like whistles and retail on the Duck Commander website for between $10 and $150. But Cracker Barrel does sell t-shirts, a talking keychain and camouflage jelly beans with the Duck Commander logo. It also stocks Robertson's autobiography, his wife's cookbook and a mug bearing his catchphrase: "Happy happy happy."
Jeff Eller, a spokesman for Cracker Barrel, said products with the television show branding had been pulled but were now in stock again. He said stores offer a broader selection of Duck Dynasty products than does the website.
Robertson stirred controversy with comments he made in a GQ interview about homosexuality, bestiality and race.
A&E said he was indefinitely suspended from the show, but did not clarify what that meant for the announced January debut of a fifth season. It said the fourth season premiere had nearly 12 million viewers, making it the no. 1 nonfiction series in cable history. To top of page

A&E decides to ax "Duck Dynasty" at least two other networks are eager to snap up the hugely popular reality show according to TMZ.

Merrill Sport, owner of the Christian-affiliated Hunt Channel told the website that he'd be thrilled to pick up the show.

"We believe in the 2nd amendment and freedom of speech," he said. "...A&E needs to put on their big boy pants, and if they don't like the programming, they need to either let ("Duck Dynasty") go or shut up and pay them."

Sports added, "A&E is too scripted. (Hunt Channel) would let the personalities flow."

Rusty Faulk, CEO of the Pursuit Channel is also salivating at the chance to air Phil and his duck posse telling TMZ that the channel doesn't, "censor our personalities."

But they may not be able to move so easily. TMZ is also reporting that the Robertson family's A&E contract precludes the clan from doing another show for a certain period of time.

Lord I been on A&E facebook page and it not pretty for them at all with somewhere in the range of 14,000 very unfriendly comments concerning their actions.

Nice move pissing off your customers/former customers to that degree.

Oh a lot of people are also pounding them for their new soft porn show concerning "cowgirls" on horses with little cloths on.

With special note of some posters who are in the rodeo business and are annoyed at how they are being portray.

‘Duck Dynasty’ Fallout: GLAAD Reeling From Biggest Backlash in Years, Says R
In the fallout over Wednesday’s suspension of “Duck Dynasty” star Phil Robertson by A&E for anti-gay and racist remarks, GLAAD is experiencing record levels of backlash.

“In the five-and-a-half years I’ve worked at GLAAD, I’ve never received so many violently angry phone calls and social media posts attacking GLAAD for us speaking out against these comments,” the media watchdog organization’s vice president of communications Rich Ferraro told TheWrap.

He said those reactions range from those who simply believe as Robertson believes to those who feel that GLAAD and A&E’s actions limit the reality star’s free speech.

Duck Dynasty' family to walk? A&E in a pickle as sponsors now back Phi

December 20, 2013

The “Duck Dynasty” family pushes back at A&E stating they “Can’t imagine the show without Phil,” and the fans are cheering the family’s stand! The suspension of Phil Robertson from “Duck Dynasty” after he gave his opinion on homosexuality in a GQ Magazine interview has taken front and center in headline news.

According to Time Magazine on Dec. 19, the Robertson family did just what fans thought they would, stand behind Phil and his rights to voice his opinion. It looks as though A&E’s haste to work some damage control after the blow back from the Gay community may have come back to bite them.

The biggest sponsor for the show, Skyjacker, which builds truck suspensions, had their top brass visit "Fox and Friends" Friday morning. They stand behind Phil adamantly. They said if there is backlash to their stand, so be it! TMZ reported this sponsor's willingness to back Phil and the "Duck Dynasty" family yesterday. Other sponsors have also followed suit today.

CBS News reports as of Thursday over 1 million folks have signed on to boycott A&E on the Boycott A&E until Phil returns to "Duck Dynasty" Facebook page.

I'm inclined to agree that this is a publicity stunt...

On whose part? If this is a top-rated show on A & E why do they need this sort of publicity stunt?

Publicity boosts ratings, especially if it's a controversy. Every show can use a boost in ratings, even if it's top-rated already. People don't watch TV because it's wholesome; more likely they'll watch it because other people are talking about it.
