Well I will be tuned in. But I sure wish he had picked a time slot other than during American Idol. Smile

I'll be intersted in what he has to say, OB, & the response here on A2k. It gives the "news" we receive here in Oz more depth & clarity.

I just heard he's got an opening statement that is 17 minutes long. Is he only allowing 5 minutes of questions? I wish this president would do less speech making and more actual press conferences.

If you were Mr. Bush's handler, would you give him even 5 minutes of unscripted time?

I just saw a typical politician move. A reporter asked him point blank: "One of the biggest criticisms of you Mr. Bush is that you never admit a mistake, no matter what the issue is. Do you feel that this is a fair criticism?"

His "answer": Well, I think the American people know where I stand, and I think the world is a better place without Saddam Hussein.

In what world is that an answer to that question?

.

He's not answering questions, because .... he can't.

He's rambling. He's all over the place. He's showing a frightening lack of understanding of the compexities of issues regarding the Middle East and terrorism.

It's sad and embarrasing.

The bottom line is this war was a mistake, in every sense of the word. Saddam was a jerk, but not a threat. And more to the point, America is less safe today because of this war. Extremists have used it to justify anti-American sentiment and fuel terrorist ranks. Our long-time allies have been dismissed and alienated, and clearly, for the long haul, we need them.

Bush has done extraordinary real damage and he absolutely needs to go.

.

He just put out the question "What is the proper use of American power?"

Invasion ?

Regime change ?

Policing the world ?

Unilateral military policy ?

He really doesn't get it.

Five more minutes and I would have been wishing for a MOAB drop on my TV.

Damn it, I missed the speech at the beginning! Does anyone know if they'll show it again somewhere? I don't know if it matters, but I'd like to see it.

Wrong, wrong, wrong. He's a lousy speaker, but his message is clear. I heard it. I like it... and I sincerely hope he lives up to it.

O my God. That was the worst. I wish I were a fly on the wall watching his advisors watch this. They had to be tearing their hair out.

So it wasn't just me. He came of like an adolescent trying to bluster his way out of being "in trouble." He
is inarcticulate and buffoonish. It was really painful to watch. The reaction shots of Condi and Rove were priceless.
