Is it possible to be in the middle ground when it comes to Marmite?

Everyone says you either love it or you hate it but I'm not convinced...you see I don't really know either way...I eat it, but my friends who love it really love it...and I'm really not that fussed...is there anyone else in Marmite no mans land like me?

What is marmite? This is the first time I've heard of it.

I think others may know it as Vegemite? I'm in England and here, the slogan is 'you either love it or you hate it'.

One Marmite slathered piece of toast has more salt than the Dead Sea. Yum! They just started carrying it at the local grocers. Damn expensive.

Glad to see I"m not the only one who'll defend vegemite. I'll eat it straight from the jar.

It is the nastiest thing I ever tasted. I did not have marmite, but tasted vegemite. It smelled and tasted like a vitamin. Ever, bite into a vitamin by mistake? That is the delicious taste of vegemite.

Five steps past anchovies on the rancid salt-o-meter. Now, I like anchovies, long as they're not too bony, but vegemite... look, folks, the stuff was made so you wouldn't get scurvy, not to be enjoyed. I can't imagine there are many S&M folks in Oz, as they'd be completely redundant.

That said, I've never tried this "marmite."
