Bollocks. I think anybody who seeks power, especially with the avidity that lot did, is a demon. And I don't expect demons to behave like angels.

What of the hundreds of questions that I have posed that have gone unanswered.

You know the answer to that. You have said so. A large number of questions I have asked have not been answered. That sort of thing doesn't bother me. They are answered when they cause people to put me on Ignore or respond with insults.

Is the USA the biggest terrorist nation/group on planet Earth?

In all the circumstances I would say not. It just has the biggest reach and it's intentions seem reasonable. Peace will come on the wheels of fire. There is no telling how many lives the US has saved.

And that, I presume, is the post that you suggest contains facts which described your position.

@BillRM,
JTT is trying to make the US a better place and one she can be proud of and feel comfortable in. She just thinks it is easy to do and it isn't.

You obviously haven't read the material.

Good deeds, (if you could actually find some), don't cancel millions slaughtered just to advance your financial position.

@JTT,
Indeed, about WW1 & 2 and the SDN and the UN. Other good (brilliant) 'moments' and trends are the signing of the Bill of Rights, the anti-slavery and civil rights saga... the antitrust laws by Roosevelt no 1, the keynesian response to the 29 crisis... Science a plenty... Jazz, Blues & Rock n Roll and what not on the cultural plane...

They suck in most sports, I grant you that. Wink

And should these demons be brought before a Nuremberg trial? Why do these demons get pensions and accolades and warships named after them? Why do these demons get to golf the rest of their lives (okay, bad example - that's worse than being hung), but you get my drift.

I have read plenty of it. What is the alternative. The US withdrawing from world affairs? The forces in the world don't listen to homilies however pious.

You're certainly mercurial, O5. One second I have leprosy the next you are leaping into my arms.

Let's take these myths one at a time. Where would you like to start?

Mercurial I probably am, or look like from your perspective which from mine looks as heavy as a concrete wall... Lighten up.

Respond to all at once for brevity's sakes.

They might know that what you mean is Unilateral Good Guys. Like Unilateral Nuclear Disarmament or Unilateral Carbon Dieting.

The route to World Peace can only come from civilised Big Shitter. And that takes a long time.

Your schtick does not account for the facts of life.

What about population pressure on limited resources? Which is what caused the US to come into existence. *******. How about Unilateral Celibacy?

I approve of your schtick. Not your impatience and sweeping solutions. You make us think. A civilising force. People who put you on Ignore are not in the game. It has nothing to do with people who fancy themselves thinkers. They are of no account.

So the NSA really isn't spying on Merkel anymore: Obama has kept his promise!

But instead now closely monitoring 320 leading people in Germany - mostly politicians like the interior minister but also business leaders.

The Sunday tabloid Bild am Sonntag said its information stemmed from a high-ranking NSA employee in Germany and that those being spied on included Interior Minister Thomas de Maiziere, a close confidant of Merkel. "We have had the order not to miss out on any information now that we are no longer able to monitor the chancellor's communication directly," it quoted the NSA employee as saying.

Bild am Sonntag quoted a security adviser to Obama, Caitlin Hayden, as saying: "The United States has made clear it gathers intelligence in exactly the same way as any other states."

@Walter Hinteler,
Report: NSA spying on Merkel aides
Quote:
A major newspaper in Germany claims that the US National Security Agency has switched to monitoring officials close to Chancellor Angela Merkel. They include Interior Minister Thomas de Maiziere.
[...]
Interior Minister de Maiziere was watched because he was a cabinet confidante of Merkel, who often sought his advice, and because of past talk that the former defense minister was tipped for the post of NATO secretary-general, BamS said.
[...]
BamS said an example of firms targeted in Germany was the data concern SAP, a competitor of the US concern Oracle.
[...]
Sensitivity over snooping is high in Germany due to experiences during the Nazi era and latterly in former communist East Germany.

I hope the US is continuing to spy...and if Germany is not, I would hope it would start. The more people spying...the safer the world.

Indeed. We've noticed such between 1933 and 1945.
And the East Germans even until 1990.

Sarcasm noted.

I would suggest you try to get everyone in Germany to elect only people devoted to not spying.

I don't want that other posters call me again childish or similar.

But I don't think that you can imagine how it is when you have to live under such circumstances like the generation of parents/grandparents did ... and what millions still remember from their time living the GDR.
