It has to be better than doing nothing which is what you seem to be happy with.
Nothing?
Why are you distorting things so much, Izzy.
I have not advocated doing "nothing."
I am saying that the United States should do what our laws say should be done in cases like this...to allow the issue to move its way up the courts and ultimately be resolved by the SCOTUS. I am sure both the Snowden defense team and the government would appeal any adverse ruling.
I call to your attention that one way of dealing with the issue you seem so bothered about...would be for Edward Snowden to come back to the United States...mount the best defense he can...and then allow appeals to make their way through the courts.
The SCOTUS can then take the case and decide it...or refuse to take the case and allow the decision of the highest previous court to stand.
That is not "doing nothing" by any means...and you characterizing that way is apparently the result of not having a real rebuttal to offer. There is no reason for us to get into that kind of play, Izzy.
