@JPB,
The CIA and the FBI are supposed to be answerable to congress but actually are not, because Congress and the President are afraid to do their job. These organizations need more oversite and less ability to act on their own. When one of them is caught in a lie they should be immedately fired. That should happen when congress votes for the good of the country rather than themselves.

In the latest German version about Donald Duck universe ["Winterzeit" (LTB 449), Egmont Ehapa Verlag], NSA spying is the topic .... and Donald becomes a whistleblower ("Phantomias vs NSA: Donald Duck is a Whistleblower") ...

The sooner this Snowden character gets a good look at the inside of a thermobaric fireball, the better. Evil or Very Mad

I say that's a bluff, and I suggest we call the bluff.

But even if it isn't a bluff, better to get it over with all at once than dribbled out piecemeal anyway.

But how about this: We cook Snowden in a thermobaric fireball. And then if anything else is released, we also cook his family in thermobaric fireballs.

Why do you think it is a bluff as I am nowhere near the expert that Snowdon happen to be but I could and under the situation he is in a would set up a dump of all information should anything happen to me.

It not a hard thing to do.

Instinct mostly.

This guy is all about helping terrorists kill innocent Americans. If there is anything that he can possibly do to damage our ability to stop terrorist attacks, he is going to do it no matter what. He doesn't plan to hold anything back in a "secret reserve".

Well if he does, better "all at once" than "dribbled out piecemeal" anyway. If there is no possible way to avoid your enemy's attack, you might as well get it over with.

And if he does, kill his family too.

@oralloy,
I doubt it's a bluff. I have a strong feeling that those who have spent countless hours and dollars attempting to figure out what he has would rather it not "all" come out.

Meanwhile, the European parliament has voted to formally invite Edward Snowden to give testimony on NSA spying, despite opposition from conservative MEPs. If the US whistleblower provides answers to the questions compiled by parliamentarians in time, a hearing via video link could take place in early January. The Conservative fraction in the parliament opposed, but failed to derail the vote to invite.

@Walter Hinteler,
One of the questions I saw was that they want to determine if he had any other recourse than the one he took. I think this is critical to determining whether he had, or should have had, whistleblower protections.

Well, it seems unlikely that they'll be able to prevent it so long as he is alive, as this guy is going to try to make sure everything he has gets into the hands of every bad guy on the planet.

If he has set up provisions to release the data after he dies, then there is nothing we can do to prevent that data from being released. The best we can do is DroneStrike him.

And then if he does release anything posthumously, DroneStrike his family as well.

He isn't sabotaging all our secret means of defeating the bad guys because he wants us to keep defeating the bad guys.
