Who wants to speak like the queen? The queen's English isn't any better or more grammatical than any other dialect of English.
You pompous fool. It is by definition[/i].
A definition is noticeably absent. Uniformed opinions can hardly be considered definitions, Steve.
Ok well its my full dress opinion that the phrase you used above can serve as a definition of 'the queen's english', i.e. a version of English which is clear concise and grammatically correct, thus making it "better" than a version which isn't. Right turn dismiss!

Blimey. A German version of the Queen's English. Sounds just like a Hanoverian.

Has anyone else smiled ruefully when a posters write of "overdueing" exertion or "overdo" reforms?

Never seen that, Nodders. Will look out.
But it's depressing how many even quite important messages and publications are printed with howlers in.
Maybe I could be a poof reader.

Jesus. These are American publications, I take it.
It's certainly not in my Concise Oxford.

JTT certainly carries on . . . with little reason and less authority than he would like to assert he possesses.

Your avatar suits you perfectly. A yappy little mutt. Stick to history, Set, for your "contributions" illustrate that you know little to nothing about language.

JTT reminds me a bit of Numba 4 from the Kids Next Door (on Cartoon Network), but not as entertaining or nice, but I doubt anyone here watches that.

I see no evidence of any language expertise on your part--just a willingness to bully and to attempt to impose on others.
