@Calamity Dal,
No. The sacrificed god is still around. But in our humane world his wallet is wrung rather than his neck. This allows his wallet to be wrung more than once.

Would you say that christians reject all pagan festivities?

Sounds fun though..Wink

By all means ignore my point and jump on the humor wagon, I find it funny only in as much as you spend all of your time condemning every other christian denomination while you yourself have no problem with mixing up your worship with pagans. You clearly do not worship the same god of the old testament

@Spendi
Jesus had a wallet?

Romeo, you worship Saturn on Dec 25 and Astarte at Easter time..

Funny, I could have sworn that Christmas was all about celebrating Jesus's birth, and Easter was about celebrating his brave self-sacrifice on the cross?
Or don't you Jehovah's Witness think that was worth celebrating?
Do you remember in Exodus, chapter 32, when the Israelites made the Golden calf and began worshiping it? This is just one example of how Jehovah feels about the mixing of his worship with the detestable practices of the nations. Did you know the worship of Astarte was associated with child sacrifice? Did you know the cute little chicks and bunnies and eggs of Easter are all associated with paganism? Why would you expect that associating the name of Jesus with these things could in any way purify them in God's eyes?

We DESTROYED the godless pagan festivals by overwriting them and turning them into celebrations of Jesus..Smile
Same with Christian churches, many are built on ancient pagan worship sites, symbolically STOMPING them into the ground..Smile
The Christian celebrations of Christmas and Easter are therefore not only celebrations of Jesus, but ALSO celebrations of the steamrolling of paganism under the awesome unstoppable power of Christianity..Smile

God... where are the original sinful women who shoot up schools?

How is it that men are still so much more deserving of rule?

@Romeo Fabulini,
Romeo Vs the Bible.

the bible wrote:
Therefore, my dear friends, flee from idolatry. I speak to sensible people; judge for yourselves what I say … Do I mean then that a sacrifice offered to an idol is anything, or that an idol is anything? No, but the sacrifices of pagans are offered to demons, not to God, and I do not want you to be participants with demons. You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons too; you cannot have a part in both the Lord's table and the table of demons. Are we trying to arouse the Lord's jealousy? Are we stronger than he?— 1 Corinthians 10:14, 19-22 (NIV)

Do not be deceived; ... nor idolaters... will inherit the kingdom :1Corinthians 6: 9

Now I know he was only addressing sensible people, but you could take a note too Mick.
Mick wrote:
Idolatry is harmless, it's fun

So TRUE christians enjoy a bit of Paganism because there are no more pagans to honor the pagan gods? I'm not sure I can take you seriously anymore
So far Mick, within the confines of A2K you have made cases using scripture with a little creative accounting to assert that idolatry, fornication, homosexuality and war (I may have missed some) can be conditionally acceptable to your god. If your god is the god of the bible you do not know your god.

Anthropologists say that the matriarchy lasted 2 million years and it wasn't working out.

Would you say, Rex, that women were better off before the patriarchy was established or after it was?

What are you suggesting as you so blithely play to the gallery of stupid feminists? We would make women's wages three times that of men if it was voted for at the checkouts. Somebody should take Obarmy to one side and explain it to him.

Get a ******* violin eh and serenade the ladies with some skill. Any plonker can gob off.
