Guys, tell us which bit of this you think is oddball and makes no sense (and remember, this is God himself speaking through Jesus's mouth)-
"Love one another, feed the hungry, house the homeless, clothe the destitute, tend the sick, visit the prisoners, look after the poor"- Jesus of Nazareth (Mark 12:30, John 13:34, Matt 25: 37-40)

Neologist replied: Though you have been told many times that is not true, you continue to spew your own interpretation..

Mate I'm not 'interpreting' anything, I'm simply telling you what Jesus said, so argue it out with him when you meet him..Smile
Jesus said:-"You have ONE teacher, ME" (Matt 23:10)

Jesus said the Christian heaven is a 'spiritual paradise' where all true christians go, and that all murderers, thieves etc will be slung into hell.
However JW's say there's only room for 144,000 in heaven, and that the rest of us will be stuck on earth.
They also say there's no hell, so I bet murderers and thieves etc will be pleased to hear they can carry on regardless without fear of going to hell!
With that dangerous belief alone, we can see Satan's fingerprints on the JW's.

PS- as i've said before, i'm not singling out the JW's, i'm just as critical of all other cults such as catholics, mormons, pentecostals, rapturists,hindus, muslims, alpha coursists, baptists etc, satan's dangerous fingerprints are all over them too..Smile

@Romeo Fabulini,
You seem to think that you can negate the evil your god has created with a couple of teachings of your jesus. Any time I point out logical fallacies in your teachings you ignore them and return with a blanket statement that your jesus said "be nice".

You have stated that JWs are evil for asserting that a loving god would not punish humankind for eternity in a hell, they are satan's henchmen for believing that the reward god gives is an earth based paradise where the wicked are removed and just not alive.

You state that you however are a holy man of god and are never wrong. You believe that god sent us here to suffer for our life time, whether that be by rape, sexual abuse, wars, famines, pestilence, not satisfied with the evil of man, he also lets the devil torment us further, and then if we fail to believe in the concept that this god is loving, he will torment us for eternity in a fiery hell.

your logic is astounding.

Whats more, you deceived us with aplomb when Smiley asked you what your god requires. If anyone had listened to you and thought that was enough, they would apparently be going to your hell.

If you think I misunderstand what you believe I am happy to give you the opportunity to explain.

3- you deceived us with aplomb when Smiley asked you what your god requires.

1- Jesus and God say human trash IS going to be slung into hell, but the JW's say they're not, so who shall we believe, God/Jesus or the JW's?
Jesus said:- “God will say to those on his left, ‘Get away from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels" (Matt 25:41)

2- God doesn't do rape, abuse, wars, famine and pestilence, HUMANS DO!
And if people weakly give in to the devil's prompting, it makes things worse!

3- Smiley asked what God requires, and as i recall I told him-
Jesus said - "The work God requires is to believe in the one he has sent" (John 6:28 )
Or to put it another way, Jesus said "You're my friends if you follow me. I don't call you servants, but I call you friends"- (John 15:15)
All that seems clear enough to me..Smile

Vanity, pomposity and ego mate..Smile
Like all "Vanity Cults" they like to think they know more than anybody else and that they're a cut above the rest of us poor dumb slobs.
"If you try to study the Bible without our help, you go into darkness" (JW Watchtower 15 Sep 1910,page 298 )

They interpreted the Bible to suit their own cockamamie ideas and wove together a random assortment of verses into a cross between a Monty Python script and a tangled furball-

Strictly speaking it's none of my business what all cults believe, but they get Christianity a bad name and make it a laughing stock, so I make it my business to try to slap some sense into them for their own good, call me a good samaritan..Wink

"Those who oppose him he must gently instruct, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth,and that they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will" (2 Tim 2:23-26)

What good is it to post a youtube video that can't be viewed by some because some aren't on that side of the world. Or because one's location refuses to allow.

Or did you know that.

Better that I just repeat my remark, because it is important that it be considered:

In many respects...Christianity IS an oddball cult!

@Frank Apisa,
How can that be when the Catholic Church alone has 2.1 billion adherents?

And "in many respects" is more forked-tounged weakness.

Christianity is much more than oddball in North Korea.

@Romeo Fabulini,
1. translating that as real fire makes no sense Mick. Fire would not harm your spirit beings, or shadrach meshach and abednego would have been screwed. if we are going to take the whole discourse of Jesus in Matthew 26 literally you arent going to heaven. Sheep are. Jesus spoke in pictures and parables. Gehenna or the valley of hinnom was a place his followers were very familiar with, so it was a descriptive picture of destruction, no one was sent there to be tormented, those already dead were thrown there when they were deemed unworthy of a proper burial. Your version of hell didn't exist until your christian leaders started fornicating with the greek philosophers. Yet you would have me believe the greeks over your jesus.

2. This is YOUR gods model for judgement. why is your devil allowed to "prompt" this world to rape kill and abuse eachother? and HOW is it that YOUR god allows it? You need to start thinking logically, if your gods purpose for this earth was as a training ground. Everything that happens is part of what he has planned. If an all powerful god sees things going on here on earth that he does not condone, he could easily fix it and remove anything he deems an unfair test but he doesn't.
Rather, consider the woman who is raped as her family are killed, that falls into a state of despair and cannot reconcile the thought of a god that allows this, she is then sent to burn in hell for all eternity. Where is the love, or the justice, or the wisdom in that?

3. I would safely bet that JWs follow Jesus a lot closer than you mate.

You are right on the button here, CD.

I'd make that same bet that the Jehovah's Witnesses are a lot closer to the teachings of Jesus than the much of the stuff Romeo spouts.

@Romeo Fabulini,
I have no doubt that there are no bibles that are without bias Mick, but lets lay YOUR bias aside and look at the facts. JWs did not have their translation until 80 years after their founding, their central doctrine is to study and follow gods will by obeying what they think the bible says even to their fault.

Mick wrote:

Quote:
A 2003 study by Jason BeDuhn, associate professor of religious studies at Northern Arizona University in the United States, of nine of "the Bibles most widely in use in the English-speaking world," including the New American Bible, The King James Bible and The New International Version, examined several New Testament passages in which "bias is most likely to interfere with translation." For each passage, he compared the Greek text with the renderings of each English translation, and looked for biased attempts to change the meaning. BeDuhn reported that the New World Translation was "not bias free", but emerged "as the most accurate of the translations compared", and thus a "remarkably good translation", adding that "most of the differences are due to the greater accuracy of the NW as a literal, conservative translation". BeDuhn said the introduction of the name "Jehovah" into the New Testament 237 times was "not accurate translation by the most basic principle of accuracy", and that it "violate[s] accuracy in favor of denominationally preferred expressions for God", adding that for the NWT to gain wider acceptance and prove its worth its translators might have to abandon the use of "Jehovah" in the New Testament

So the criticism found here was an attempt to use gods name more. well that is just sacrilege

What's more, I had them round at my home many times over the years, and never did they insist on using their own interpretation. I have 12 bibles, including one of theirs, yet they would use whichever one I pulled down off the shelf. How did you choose the translation you use?

If you strolled into a new pub and announced to the company--"The names Mick, age 60+, I've got a normal healthy interest in Christianity, philosophy, metaphysics, ancient scripture etc" ---the company would piss their pants laughing.

I find it difficult to understand how, if you disparage nearly all others who claim to be christian, you can then boast about how christianity is the largest of the world's religions. Then you aver that christians make better neighbors, employees, etc.

To which christians are you referring, Romey? The church of mick?
