Beth you have to forgive my gross ignorance but I can't find anything whatever objectionable with the OP. I presume you ref Res' q's re lefs and libs and what brings 'em? To me it's just as neutral as asking, "Why are there so many pigeons in the clearing, and what has attracted them there"

@dalehileman,
I'm not sure, but it really seems strange to me how different people perceive it so differently.

To repeat, it only asks,
Quote:
Why are there so many leftist and liberals in this website? What brought you to here?

On the opposite side would be, "why are there so many rightists and conservatives on this website?"

Don't see anything wrong here.

The thumb-up was given to Set's post as I found it amusing.

I didn't thumb down the thread.

I also do not understand why Beth considers the OP vile, but I it does appear that High Resolution intended to be provocative.

My questions to High Resolution go to the core of the provocation:

How many are there?

What number constitutes "so many?"

(looks to me like you and Dale are having difficulty differentiating between original post and original poster)

Probably for the same reasons I do.

Look, I find this a beautiful thing and a beautiful idea.

High Resolution thinks it's sad and that Hitler should have done something to prevent that:

@ehBeth,
You stated,
Quote:
The OP is vile
whereupon I asked,

"I presume you ref Res' q's re lefs and libs and what brings 'em?" by which I refer to the OP, namely, "Why are there so many leftist and liberals in this website? What brought you to here?" to which you respond,

Quote:
you presumed incorrectly
But if you are referring to what we commonly call the OP and if I then quote the OP, it it is it not the OP you consider vile then what is it

@ehBeth,
I'm not sure who's confused here! It seems most of us defined OP as Original Post. Even Original Poster would tend to mean the first post by the poster.

I gotta acknowledge that I may be misinterpreting what OP means.

I thought the OP was the original post as written by the thread originator. But apparently the OP can designate the original poster (the person who originated the thread...rather than his/her text.)'

Which is it...or can the OP indicate both or either?

@cicerone imposter,
OP has meant original poster for years, far as I know.

@dalehileman,
From internet slang,
Quote:
What is OP?
OP is "Original Poster"

OP Definition / OP Means
The definition of OP is "Original Poster"

The Meaning of OP
OP means "Original Poster"

It was not his original post that most of us arrived at his racial bigotry.

Okay it is precisely those reasons about which several of us have inquired. What are they

Quote:

Forgive me time but what is it you find beautiful; Frank's (and my) lack of understanding, Beth's opinion of the OP, or the various reasons supposedly shared by you and Beth as to why it so qualifies

Quote:
High Resolution thinks it's sad and that Hitler should have done something to prevent that:
By "that" we presume you mean the white girl offering the black fellow a rose. Why do you suppose Res thinks it sad, what is it that Hitler might have done to prevent it, and how does it impinge upon a supposed travesty of the OP

So according to Ossobuco and ci...OP refers to a person...not to text.

Okay.

Good to know.

My thought earlier was that the question posed by the OP was not vile. The OP may be vile...and if that photo he linked to is any indication, he may have racial motivations.

My questions for the OP stand.
