as a Canadian, i'm not anti gun, i've had friends who owned handguns and have gone to ranges to shoot

i see no need to own a handgun and not being a hunter i don't own a long gun, but i'd like to live up north someday, and would probably own a long gun of some sort (there are bears in the area i'd like to live)

i'm glad we have the restrictions we do, owning a long gun in Canada is actually pretty easy, hand guns not so much

i don't for the most part fear my fellow citizens

ditto (other than moving back up North - I've done my time up there)

@RABEL222,
I wonder if they are a "prepper" as well.
There were some articles suggesting that Adam Lanza's mother was a "prepper."

How come assault weapon legislation defines the gun based on harmless cosmetic features like a pistol grip, and does not cover a single weapon capable of full auto fire?

Bath, Michigan School Disaster

Going off on a tangent here, but speaking of Michigan and schools, our governor has a bill in front of him that would allow a special "extra training" version of Michigan's standard CCW permit.

People with an enhanced CCW permit would be allowed to carry in public schools.

The left are bombarding him with hysterical calls to veto it. But if he has the courage to sign it, Michigan's school children will become that much safer at the stroke of a pen.

Full auto fire weapons already require a Federal license to own. OMG... Your 2nd amendment rights are so violated.

No they don't. Except for a few isolated states, the only thing that is required is registration.

Wolves and bears don't have to be evil to cause concern; their being hungry suffices...

G, the temporary reinstatement of the Federal Assault Weapons Ban that expired on September 13, 2004 would create a new category: double pre-ban

@gungasnake,
There is something you should know about guns and gun bans.

Criminals have never and will never give any thought to being in compliance
with any rules set forth by any AWB... That's why they call them criminals.

I take pride in the weapons I own and I make sure that I am in 100% compliance with laws & rules.
My circle of gun owning friends are like minded.
We are not criminals, we are law abiding citizens of this constitutional republic.
We follow the rules and adhere to all of those laws.

If you want to ban something, ban putter wielding Bunnies

Rap, how exactly does the magazines capacity change the rifle?

The typical Dem Lib is compliant--it does not have a high capacity brain.
