The new testament is based on the old testament. Jesus was Jewish, and built his teachings off of the old testament, as did his followers. Of -course- they correspond.

i think you're not realizing that 400 years passed between the testaments...consider this and then re-read the 12 prophecies i posted, and then you will understand my point

What difference does the passage of time make? People who believed in an old book wrote a new book to correspond with the old book. That doesn't mean that the events written about acutally happned, in the old or new.

For example,
The illiad is a book full of historical fact, but that doesn't mean it actually happened. If Homer had written a sequal to the illiad confirming loose prophecies that were in the Illiad, that still would not make the illiad a historical work.

The laws of the Old Testament still are in force.

These laws continued as long as Israel's special relationship to God continued, and all would end when that special relation ended. That special relationship ended when the gospel came into effect. There is no more Jew or Gentile in God's plan (Gal. 3:28). [Cf. Eph. 2:11-18; Acts 10:34,35; 15:7-11; Rom. 10:12; Col. 3:11]

research 'covenants'.....

The law allowed priests only of the tribe of Levi, but it predicted a time when Christ would be a priest of the tribe of Judah. This meant the law would be changed

All Old Testament laws passed away for the same reason animal sacrifices, circumcision, etc., passed away. God gave them to accomplish a purpose for the nation of Israel. They accomplished that purpose, so God removed them.

lets look at the verse again,

For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

they key is "til all be fulfilled"

til what is fulfilled?????

Jesus' purpose

says Jesus:
I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do. John 17:4

and also

For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth. Romans 10:4

so, you can see that i am right and you are wrong.... Very Happy

Each of them has been thoroughly debunked --

that is simply your opinion

The so-called Biblical prophesies are jokes. And has been pointed out, they are part of the Old Testament that you try so hard to distance yourself from when it is not convenient for you to do otherwise.

i have not distanced myself from the old testament.....for every website you can find 'de-bunking' the old testament prophecies, i can find just as many proving them...

So in other words all of the laws that you have been touting as the basis for morality have passed? You are losing me here.

It must be confusing for him coming from a backround where memorized illogical arguments and un-thinking are praised, and where he thinks he will be ultimately rewarded for never questioning these ideas, no matter how illogical.

I'll bet that he sees himself as a martyr, winning against devils by the mere fact that he is persistent. He also probably really likes the attention, feels that he's really getting somewhere.

If he is young, there is some hope for him realizing his situation. If not, yes, he may have some kind of a future in politics.

Getting a bit testy aren't we? I had in mind the ten commandments that all those folks got upset about (Judge Moore's Monument) in Alabama. If they are no longer pertinent, why all the fuss?

Micah, please adress my response to your quote of the "flagellum" arument.

What happened to you in your personal life that you came to these beliefs? How old are you? Where do you live? Is there a particular sect of Christianity of which you are a member? Are your parents fundamentalists? Did you go to a parochial school? Are you a cult member?
