@FOUND SOUL,
Yep, he has two little round holes on his side. There are some heathen kids in the neighborhood, we had a problem with them a while back going down the alley with a BB gun.

Awwww..... just catching up on this.

That's a lovely cat even in his current state and I'm sure he will be glossy and delovely before long under jcboy's care.

Meanwhile, mmarciano has the patience of a saint. Very Happy

Edit: have either of you fellas read "My Family and Other Animals?" You might enjoy it.

@sozobe,
I must! I knew when he bought the cat food we would have another animal in the house.

@MMarciano,
I think you'd better get used to this sort of episode, Marco.
But far worse things could happen, yes? Smile

@msolga,
Oh I know, and the new house is much larger so I can't expect a bird cage and probably an aquarium.

@MMarciano,
Just hope he doesn't develop a fondness for rescuing really big critters!
Like alligators!

@sozobe,
Hmmm. I may have to read that. I've only read one book by a Durrell, and that was written by Gerard's brother, Lawrence, on quite a different subject, Bitter Lemons.

@ossobuco,
Larry is mercilessly skewered in Gerald's books. Very different tone to the two of them, but interesting to read them in tandem.

I prefer Gerald myself. (Although I read his books first, and that may have permanently colored how I read Larry... I mean Laurence's books. Smile )

@sozobe,
I remember reading about Gerald in Bitter Lemons. Hard for me to recall the tone, sort of complaining and loving at the same time. I could be way off, it's been a while.

Smokey is home from the Vet. He’s been neutered, wormed and had his shots and flea medication. He’s malnourished, only weighs 10lbs and he’s a big cat so we have to fatten him up. I can tell he doesn’t like being inside, must have always been an outdoor cat. He will get use to it.

The dogs are ignoring him just as the did with the other two cats I had but Smokey doesn’t like being around them, he won’t come out of his cat tree.

@roger,
The cat is sleeping in his new bed tonight! I’ll probably be on the sofa.

Smokey is doing good today. He seems to be a happy cat, he’s eating good!

I bought him some fancy feast to help fatten him up. Mixed it with his dry food, he gobbles it up.

He’s still scared of the dogs but we are keeping them away from him. He’s on an antibotic since he had some sores on his side and back legs so they won’t get infected.

Other then that, he’s going to be okay!
