@ossobuco,
Well, that's good.

Sigh.....it's hard even when you're earning. I shudder to think how dar I am behind financially because of Viola's heart, and the terrible mystery illness.

@dlowan,
Well, she is quite avid about the suppli, er, rice balls, best deal so far.
But, I need to make more, this time brown rice.

The good part is that she is avid for food and snacks, such as they are (I still have those peanut butter cookies I made, parcelled out from my freezer stores, which she eats from my hand, smallish pecks since I hang on, once in a while chomping fingers but not badly. I need to buy more peanut butter.

On earning, I get it.
On not earning, I live it. Thus me making cookies.
Not to complain, so far so good.

She's piddle free for a while now but I don't trust it yet.

@dlowan,
Who is Viola - does she have the mystery illness? Sorry, I'm still new to these threads and don't seem to have come across this yet!

@ossobuco,
Hi Osso,

Good to hear that Katy has been piddle free for a while. Maybe it will happen again, but every time she stops it's hopeful. Meantime, gosh - Katy does eat well - don't know any other dog who has such gourmet treats made for it this way! Makes MY mouth water sometimes when you describe your latest 'pill disguiser'.

@vonny,
A) so far, so good. I am more hopeful than yesterday. This is the end part of the third day, but we've been here before. Yesterday and the day before were sans house piddles, but I saw other signs.

B) Not more gnocchi, says me to me, or now, suppli al telefono. But of course, coming right up.

When this is all over, I'll give her a real one, with molten but not too hot mozzarella in the center.

@vonny,
Relax, I couldn't afford all the hot dogs to slice up.
Or sardines either, edgarB.
But - fishcake has worked.

@ossobuco,
I've since found that a tad of natural peanut butter is enough.

@edgarblythe,
We are now into a very large number of pills. She has spit out four so far.

But wait, you mean you coat capsules with peanut butter?

@ossobuco,
My dog is half Lab, half Pit Bull. I have been known to coat six capsules at one time in peanut butter and she readily swallows them, as she is anxious to lick the saucer with the leftover.

@ossobuco,
with the boy dog I used to just dip a couple of my fingers into peanut butter, palm the pill, let him lick one finger, slip him the pill, let him lick the other finger

pill gone - about 1/2 tsp of peanut butter did the trick

he doesn't go for that these days - he's off peanut butter

now I take pliers, crush any meds he needs into the broth he's getting - he's a soup lover so he thinks it's just an extra serving of the good stuff

@ossobuco,
How's it going? I'm having difficulty in refraining from asking daily - need a piddle bulletin!

@vonny,
One piddle on the 4th day without, small
One piddle on 5th day, larger volume

She's still eating well, and peeing well most of the time.
Still lots of pills left.
Likely a vet visit this next week.

I had a pill lapse, failure to have pill stuffers on hand, but am back at it.

I'm so hoping she will be o k with my peanut butter moves.

Yes, she is still leaking. I'm down to about eighty pills.

@ossobuco,
I'm mystified at the difficulty. In this day and age of medical mirackes, an infection shouldn't be such a challenge.

Still sighing. And I don't blame your for being scared.

@Roberta,
It's not just one bacterial type.
Even during the days with no baddies, I didn't trust it.
Oh, wait, nose at my elbow..

@ossobuco,
Things are better but still complicated. I've decided to post less here.
