@ossobuco,
Love dog was down today, got me worried - lethargy personified. Roger showed up in town and saw it too, big demeanor difference. We went for a bite to eat and came back, and she had perked up to near her usual self. Met us at the door, pretty good tail wags, was eating the last of those tartar treat things which she'd ignored all day.. and, proof of the pudding, ate her meal that had also been just sitting there once I stirred it with my finger.

Whew.

@ossobuco,
What about getting Katy and Sally together over the weekend? Maybe at the dog park or in the neighborhood.

@Diane,
Well, Roger's car could make it over the road to the dog park in contrast to mine, but he'll be gone tomorrow night. I've no clue if she's ever been near a dog park.
By the way, is your phone ok? we called you re going out for a snack a few times.
There's always next week. I'm for Roger getting in on the event. I'm guessing he'd like to be there and both dogs know him, he'd probably be a reassuring presence. He's the main dog ear person for Katy and I know he cares about Sallyboots (my sometime name for her).

@ossobuco,
I'll add that Roger and I are working to have him be able to bring her to see his sister in the next week or two. We need me considered by the city as owner, long story involving paperwork/bureaucracy on several levels, some of them legal levels (ok on that score). Plus I am a reluctant driver and have to present myself with the dog across town for tag changes, chip scan, et al.

@ossobuco,
So she is lying in the small space between the fin wall (divider making a "kitchen" and living room sidewall that is part of the frame of the kitchen and the living room. I add some ice to my drink and stare at her back end.. Go click click with my tongue, which I've noticed is useful before.

The tail starts whopping.
So good to see.

I am just now catching up to some things and I was told about this a while ago. Now I see why this was just so dang cool. I have missed having a little furry life in my home lately . I absolutely love to see that you have been able to find one for you and one that matches you so perfectly. Smile

@shewolfnm,
Thanks, wolfie.

A little news - I got a copy of the most recent rabies certificate and see she was born in April 2001 - so, she's just turned eleven, not twelve.

@Roberta,
If only human relationships could exist in an animals"now" world. Ive seen how sad couples dwell on their pasts (when there were good times in theior memories) or they dwell on a future filled with hope that stuff gets better. Animals live now and today. Everything is "THE BEST" and youre part of their world.

Our dogs go all orgasmic when I give em a biskit

So as of today, Katy is ok with the City of Albuquerque, good to go. Roger drove, a good thing as I might have lost my mind in the effort to find the right place, long story that would only rile me to tell. But we got to another right place and the people were good, if amazingly unfettered by interest in speedy licensing. It was sort of relaxing after the chase to get there, except for the matter of time going by. We did get a good look at some fine kitties waiting and ready to be adopted (sigh). We just made it home to my house to drop Katy off and then back in time to meet with Diane and the Cowdocs at the Flying Star, the semi-unofficial a2k gathering spot.. We could have skipped taking her home - I'd completely forgotten that Flying Star welcomes dogs on their patio, duh. She might have liked meeting the labradoodle that showed up after we were there a while. . . .

@ossobuco,
Half the nervous strain wouldn't have been there is businesses in Albuquerque were required to display their address. Swear to goody, the address they provided the first time matched up with Macy's department store. The other 75% would have gone away if the had directed us to the right place in the beginning. Darn good thing I could reach between the seats and pet the dog to lower the old blood pressure. I didn't really relax till Cowdoc got half way through the second of several stories.

Anyhow, we're good to go with a brief reunion between Sister and Katy next week.

With this many trips to town, it looks like I'm going to have to miss the amature eclipse on Sunday. So what? It gets dark every day, anyway.

@roger,
Well, this will annoy you - the operator was right.

The woman I talked to at length, that I thought, and still think, was from the Coronado (sic) shelter didn't mention they only do adoptions there, wherever the **** it is in space. Quite the opposite, told me what papers to bring.

There is a central number for all these places, criminy. I thought she was speaking specifically. I found they only do adoptions there online again, just now. Wtf.

So, the telephone operator that I maligned was right.

Like I said, hero - you did a lot of gaming through the violent network.

@roger,
And yes, the address is totally camflooie, and it's presentation on google is faux titilation.
Once I rest from this episode I'll be sending some emails.

We already agree about Abq's total mess re address signage. I've driven a lot of miles and never have seen this dumkopfness. Only a slight exaggeration, it is really stupid here.

I have always had a preference for older dogs. I adore the cuteness of puppies, but I do not have the time to take care of them nor do I have the desire.
Older dogs are much calmer and more enjoyable.

If I ever have a dog again, it will be a large breed. I am very attracted to the Great Dane, but I would have to be careful of my desire to have an older dog if I choose that breed. They live about 10 years max and from what I hear, the average is only 7 years.

@shewolfnm,
Yeah, that is the whole bag of wax, age, and the pros and cons. Katy is a glory to scratch.

To give away a secret, there is a trust reimbursing me at this point. Most reading know I'm not presently a woman of wealth and was long not getting another pet because of that, not wanting to fail a pet. Roberta understands me.

I'm not abusing this, acting as I would anyway.

Sweets likes a little diluted pork adobo juice (no onions) on her kibble.
