I heard it referred to as a tempest in a C cup this morning. Don't know which comedian said it first.

I agree with Deb. The US has really got to stop being so uptight and anally retentive!

And we're going to South Dakota and Oregon and Washington and Michigan. And then we're going to Washington, D.C. To take back the White House. Yeaeeeaaaaah!"

All people have been talking about all week is Janet Jackson, an aging and fading pop star. The stunt had it's intended results.

It is amazing that a little sleaze can knock all else of the front pages of the news. Sleaze sells.

I am always amazed that a little nudity on TV is so shocking in USA!

We have NUDE CAMPS by the sea in the summer, and everybody is totally naked, and our children aren't frustrated by that at all! The most frustrated are the adolescents, though.

Run, people!

OK, here's my serious 2-cents worth. There are nudist camps and beaches scattered all over the U.S. You want to go there, fine, that's your CHOICE. If you want to subscribe to cable or whatever so you can watch adult themed content, fine, that's your CHOICE. You want to go to strip clubs or shows, fine, that's your CHOICE.

This exhibition gave no one a choice, it was broadcast nationally over the airwaves, not only in San Francisco and Las Vegas, but in Peoria and Charleston. Some of these places are pretty damn uptight about such things, and they don't care what you think. You have boobs in your commercials in England? You also have no guns in your house, taken away by your government, and only one official religion. That makes you subjects, not citizens. That would be their argument. Now, do you see where I'm coming from here (and I agree with them).

The real boobs were Janet and Justin.

OK, here's my choice : I don't watch TV.
And another choice I make : I don't have a gun.
And we have, de-facto, at least three religions here.
And my first choice: I'm not from England.
Now, do you see where I'm coming from?

And I believe everyone has a choice.

I am not saying it was not raunchy, salacious and in poor taste. My question is it worth all the ink? ?

And some more choices: we don't have boobs in commercials usually, although some attempts have been made. And when that happens, the commercial gets cancelled, and a fine is paid(?) and nobody gets upset about it, and nobody can get a lot out of it.
You see, a win-win? We don't like explicit sexual content in media, although we tolerate it sometimes, to some extent. And, oh, we have a travestite running a show on TV.
And we also have a guy that swimmed the length of Mississippi last lear! OH YES, GO MARTIN!!

The choice 90 million americans made was to watch the Superbowl and the halftime show. They didn't choose to watch some middle aged media whore expose herself. Even I thought it was funny at the time, but after a second, realized that was really not a good thing for anyone involved or watching.

Relative, where you're coming from is Slovenia, so your arguments about what is appropriate on American television is moot. Which was the point I made above.

I expect that 89.99 million plus thought nothing of it untill it became a media circus. I also am sure that by this time every man women and child in the US has heard about it and has seen the pictures.

chjsa, i did not give any arguments, just MHO. I did not propose a new law for your congress. I am also describing conditions you may not be aware of. I understand that a conscious act exploiting the circumstances such as the Superbowl and a very sensitive environment to one's benefit is a really ugly thing.
On the other hand, it is possible to influence the circumstances, to prevent such opportunities from opening. otherwise, there will always be Jacksons.
