At least, I tried to warn you, CI. I wrote a post telling you to check your math/comprehension of that specifc meaning but it seems it never made it to print.

@Finn dAbuzz,
It doesn't take a genius to understand simple concepts; ask any ten year old.

No third party worth a hoot is emerging this go around. If Obama allows the Bush tax cuts to expire, I will relent and give him my vote, says this liberal Texan, whose vote is going to do zilch for liberals anyway.

@edgarblythe,
edgar, I think Obama will allow the Bush tax cuts to expire, but he will need to negotiate with Tea Partiers to give something in return. That "something" is what's bothersome.

Last weekend in Ybor I ran into a "friend" I hadn't seen in a long time. He's an older gay man with "money" so therefore he always has attractive young guys with him. (Pretty much standard for gay clubs.) After some bland chitchat, I decided (since I had a few drinks) to talk politics. I knew this would be interesting since he's a conservative racist bigot who told me previously that he wants Obama shot and he doesn't like black people. He feels he needs to seriously question my intelligence if I vote for Obama (again). Only minorities and gays thinking with their dick (and not their wallet) vote for Obama, apparently. He also informed me that in the last 4 years we have lost more freedom than in any other time in his life. By killing jobs and making us a socialist welfare state, Obama has stolen our freedom and made us dependent on the government. I had no response to give because I wasn't talking to a rational human.

@JeffreyEqualityNewma,
That seems so normal for many Americans these days; ignorant people are prevalent. Obama has killed jobs by increasing jobs by over 4.5 million. The only reason the unemployment numbers hasn't improved is because the conservatives do not want to increase taxes to keep government workers on the payroll, and they're also killing government unions.

When people lack common sense and objective observation, it's no use wasting your time trying to inform racial bigots and haters of our "black" president.

No response was your best option.

People willfully accept as truth the most outrageous lies in politics these days. If it pushes their agenda forward, they adopt it. That is why the election is not a given this go round. In a sane environment, a Romney would be a sitting duck. But -

@edgarblythe,
What is so telling about this presidential election is the people representing Romney and Obama. Romney has Donald Trump, a showman. Obama has Clinton, one of the most intellectual political supporter who knows how to speak politics for any elective position.

It's not even a contest. I'd enjoy seeing a debate between Trump and Clinton.

@cicerone imposter,
If you mean to say Clinton is an effective speaker, you'll get no argument from me.

Any decent ref would stop the fight as a "no contest" before Clinton landed the first shot! For some reason, I started to like Trump a while back. It seemed to me he had matured and was making reasonable sounds. But lately, he is an embarrassment to himself and the Republicans.

According to the latest electoral math from CNN, the 2012 Presidential Election will hinge on the outcome in Florida, Ohio, and Virginia. WOW! Didn't see that coming! So just like 2000, 2004, and 2008, the smart states will vote Democrat and the redneck/hillbilly/bigot states will vote for White Jesus... I mean Republican. We just need to hope the number of former northerners in Florida is enough to overcome Florida's natural tendency to be freakin stupid in everything.

@JeffreyEqualityNewma,
Wow!

No doubt an intolerant SOB like yourself places great weight on the virtue of tolerance.

Proof positive that homosexuals are really not that much different from heterosexuals.

There are heterosexual assholes and, and as Jeff as shown us, there are homosexual assholes as well.

Your attitude is a disservice too your sexual orientation. It validates unthinking prejudice towards queers.

@Finn dAbuzz,
Were these produced by your random cliche generator, Finn, or did you have to think long and hard for them?

Obama’s team insists that it is unfazed by the recent bumps in the political road.

By November, “it’s going to be about: Who do I trust more in [his] approach to the debt? Who do I trust more to create middle-class jobs? Who do I trust more to create an energy future? Who do I trust more as it relates to Afghanistan?” said David Plouffe, who served as Obama’s campaign manager four years ago and is managing political strategy in the White House this time around.

If the people decide that Obama is not the right guy to take us to a better place then we will decide that the "not Obama" option is the most rational. As per usual we find Obama here delusional.....we could have zero faith in Romney but he is still the better choice because he has not yet proven that he is the wrong choice.

For a guy who advertises that he is always the smartest person in the room Obama is one stupid mother ******..

I'm shaking my head at how someone can make a statement as pointedly ad hominem and specific in its content as this one without ANY basis in fact? SURELY Hawkeye can come up with ONE statement the President made that supports this statement. SURELY.
