I am reminded of the very earliest years of my life, soon after
I had mastered the art of walking, when kids of my age
frequently hurled personal insults at one another, for no reason.
"Fatso" and "stupid" were in very popular use. We did not know better, at that age -- not at that age.
Back then, the same, the very same insults were repeatedly alleged, with redundant repetiton again (not like now).
I guess the goal is to CONVINCE the victim of this acrimony that he is of low intelligence,
or that he is a foul person, with the expectancy that success in this endeavor
will move the defamed person to adopt the philosophy of his tormentor,
relinquishing, disavowing n repudiating his former point of vu.

There was a tactic once used by the denizens of A2K when responding to filth like Cicerone, Izzy, and the like.
They would just type "scroll, scroll, scroll", meaning they were scrolling past it without replying. It carried an unspoken denunciation of the post as worthless tripe, but didn't offer a lot of fuel to give the kooks another round of namecalling.
The tactic died out before I ever started here, but I once saw some old-timers mention it.
I've often thought that it might be the best way for me to respond to kooks, but for some reason I never do it. Maybe I'll start. I see Izzy and Cicerone have spewed up a new batch of name-calling.
