Voters don't get kidnapped and dragged to the polls.
They don't get force fed. You are being rather dramatic.
You don't have to vote if you don't want to. You may get
a letter asking why you didn't vote and you may get a small
fine if your explanation isn't good enough.
Your cousin Norma voted for a candidate because of his looks.
Isn't it up to her to decide what criteria she uses to decide
on who she votes for ? You might not agree, but it is her vote.
You said it's ok to vote because of self interest and you
also that it is expected, but you also said you cared what they
did in office. So does that mean you cared with what they
did in office as long as it was a benefit to you ?
I gather you don't want the "MASSES" in America voting because
you don't trust them to be responsible.
I think you are doing you fellow citizens a huge misjustice with
those thoughts.
