We have all heard about the good news about taking a aspirin a day to prevent heart attacks. Well, it seems that information is wrong. Not only does aspirin not prevent heart attacks, it may be the 'cause' of heart attacks. Another important finding is that long term ingestion of aspirin may be hearmful to our eyes. Well, here's the link you can read for yourself. http://www.drdavidwilliams.com/order/new_health_breakthroughs/page_7.asp?promo_code=4J4001&key_code=4J4101

C.I., don't you have the feeling that this Dr. Williams is just trying to sell his "report?" Most of his blurbs read like tantalizers, hooks to get customers.

C.I., yes the second seems more reliable. The sample size of the study referred to is much larger. Both acknowledge the benefits of aspirin but both also note the possible dangers for some people. I take an 81mg aspirin every (other) day (as do all the doctors I know), with food and plent of water. Never bothers my stomach, although my wife had bleeding from a heavier does of prescribed NSAIDs. The Family Health link is good to have. Thanks.

Thanks, osso!

Went all well - as far as we can say ["see"] until now.
(Disregarding mother's complains about the 'wrong' doctor, 'wrong' hospital, that she will never see again, that the operation wasn' well done, that ....
But we had had only little snow:wink:)

She phoned me some minutes ago (we had been with her the whole day): obviously she is feeling much better now, made some jokes - your finger-crossing worked, c.i.!

Walter, As long as your mother continues to complain about something, it's a good sign she's in good health. It's when they stop complaining is when you must start to worry.

Walter, thanks for sharing news of your mother. You and your wife have had a long time nurturing both your mother-in-law and now your mother.
You and your wife are good people!!
