Alauya met Miss Moore at a city centre night club and went back to her Erris Grove flat in west Belfast where he stabbed, strangled and raped her.
Mr Justice Weir said he could find no evidence of remorse or contrition on Alauya's part for the gruesome killing.

THE killer of Kate Beagley, who died from multiple stab wounds to the face and neck, was today convicted of murder at the Old Bailey and sentenced to life imprisonment to serve a minimum of 30 years – bringing to a close an eight-and-a-half month Surrey Police investigation which began as a missing person enquiry.
Karl Joseph Taylor, aged 27, of Kemble Street, London, WC2 and a part-time physical instructor, pleaded not guilty to the charge of murdering 32-year-old Kate as they sat on a bench on Richmond Hill during their first date on the evening of 30 May 2007.
Kate Helen Claire Beagley, a single woman from Walton-on-Thames, had worked for Centrica (British Gas) for about ten years, most recently as a National Compliance Manager, and often travelled the country on business in her company vehicle, a grey VW Golf.
Taylor and Kate had met at the CC Club in the Trocadero in Leicester Square on the evening of Friday, 18 May, phone calls and text messages followed and they arranged to meet for their first date on Wednesday, 30 May. Kate's closeness to her girlfriends meant they were aware of this

Oadis William White III, 53, was found competent to stand trial for first degree murder in the March 2010 slaying of his embattled ex-girlfriend, 22-year-old Angela Statzer.
Statzer was found dead on the evening of March 3, 2010, in a patch of woods off East Valley Drive. An autopsy determined she died of asphyxiation.
Nearly six months later, White, a convicted rapist and robber, was indicted on a charge of first degree murder. Authorities soon confirmed that White was a “person of interest” in the killings of three other young women, found years before in Washington County, Va., and Bristol, Tenn.
Statzer is the fourth young woman found dead in local woods over the past several years, prompting a wave of online speculation of a Bristol-based serial killer.
DELAND -- A DeLand man accused in the throat-slashing death of a Port Orange woman who advertised herself in a weekly publication as the "Girlfriend next door" is charged in an unrelated rape, authorities said Monday.
Willie Hicks Jr., 32, charged with first-degree murder in the death of Danielle Santangelo, 34, is now also charged with false imprisonment and the sexual battery of a woman he picked up from a downtown bar.
During the rape, the woman told police she could feel sharp sensations and blood running down her neck, investigators said.
Hicks told the woman the apartment was an abandoned place, and she should forget it and his face because he was going to find her and kill her, according to police reports.
The attack was so vicious the scared woman did not fight back and ran from the apartment when she was able, leaving her shoes and underwear behind, police said. With Hicks chasing after her, the woman jumped a fence and got to the house of a neighbor, who called police, reports state.
The Euclid Avenue apartment is the same one where Hicks' mother, Rose Hicks, said she saw Santangelo's car three months later.
Sheila Miller, 40, described for jurors Wednesday just how deadly that decision turned out to be.
She told of how three of her friends came to her parents' home and soon demanded money from her mother. Then she described how one of the men, Renaldo "Pooney" McGirth, shot Diane Miller, 63, in the chest.
"I was crying," Sheila Miller said. "I freaked out. He just shot my mom in front of me."
Sheila Miller's father, James Miller, was shot in the ear during the attack, but he survived.
Diane Miller soon agreed to get some cash, but McGirth shot her once in the chest anyway, Miller said.
