MINNEAPOLIS -- A federal judge on Monday sentenced two men to three life terms in prison for their involvement in a triple murder nearly five years ago in St. Paul.
A federal jury convicted Tyvarus Lindsey and Rashad Raleigh for the March 23, 2007 deaths of Maria McLay, her boyfriend Otahl Saunders and McLay's 15-year old daughter Brittany Kekedakis.
At Monday's sentencing, the surviving children told the judge how they remembered seeing their mother lying on the floor and "gurgling" blood after she was shot. They also talked about how their lives forever changed that day and to this day still have nightmares and trouble sleeping.
The solution is to put them on "Ignore" then do not view their posts or comment on them. When they get no response, they go away.
After deliberating eight hours, a jury Thursday found the 19-year-old Roten guilty of second-degree murder and two counts of attempted second-degree murder in the April 1999 shooting that killed 6-year-old Ashley Mance.
Prosecutors Bill Loughery and Lydia Wardell say Roten knew that Mance was a black man living with his then-fiancee, Tracy Townsend, who is white. The couple have since married.
Robin Chester appears in Judge Craig Hedric for his plea bargain sentenced Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2011 in Hamilton. Chester received the maximum of 10 years on a plea bargain of three to 10 years for repeatedly slicing his girlfriend Jennifer Miller with a meat cleaver.
After the sentencing in Butler County Common Pleas Court Wednesday, Jennifer Miller described her “night of terror” on June 2, when Robin Chester, high on cocaine, imprisoned her, hacked her 35 times with a meat cleaver and chopped her left hand nearly in half.
“It was a night of terror, having my hand chopped in half, for hours and you’re watching the blood, I’m looking inside parts of my body I’ve never seen before...,” she said. “That night I incurred 2,000 stitches and staples I went through nine hours of surgery... I wasn’t supposed to live.”

a Spokane jury convicted Woods of beating to death 22-year-old Telisha Shaver and 18-year-old Jade Moore, and of the attempted murder of Shaver’s sister, 20-year-old Venus Shaver. All were clubbed in the head with an aluminum baseball bat.
