@GracieGirl,
Godiva Belgian Dark Chocolate Ice Cream and Godiva Chocolate Raspberry Truffle Ice Cream....Sigh... Absolutely heavenly.

Godiva ran into a problem and stopped manufacturing ice cream a few years ago. Crying or Very sad

@Eva,
I miss knowing where things are without having to think about it.

Either the cabinets in my brain are too full, or something got misfiled.

@GracieGirl,
Gracie, I wonder why you miss many of the things on your list.

You could easily wake up at 8:00AM, meet up with a friend. You could not worry about what you look like while you get dirty. Then you could come home, take a bubble bath and then hold hands and share snacks with your boyfriend.

There is no reason to miss these things. If they mean that much to you, just do them.

When you were young you didn't know enough to let worry stop you from doing the things you want to do. Then sadly we learn to worry and end up missing things we love.

The good news is that when you get old you figure out how to not worry. My advice is to learn this as soon as you can.

@maxdancona,
Haha! Thanks Maxdancona. You're right but the 'not worry' thing is easier said then done, dont you think? Smile

I cant wake up at 8 am to play with friends because they dont get up until, like, 12. Haha! I always have to worry about what I look like because people judge you by how you look. Sure, I could hold hands and eat snacks with a boyfriend but guys want more than that.

Its mostly a list about things that were okay to do when I was younger but things are more complicated now. I was in a 'wistful' mood when I posted this. HAHA! Mr. Green Laughing

@ehBeth,
Maybe the steak knife I was using the other day will show up in your cabinets. It certainly doesn't appear to be in any of mine.

@JPB,
I found it, JPB.

Sorry, I used it to whittle the image of a grizzly bear out of an 18" Doug Fir log so there's not much sense in me returnin' it or you wantin' it back.

I musta missed that session at the Older than Dirt Club.

I miss having a pet.

I miss lots of members of my family.

I miss having enough money so that I don't have to think about money.

I miss doing a lot of walking.

I could go on, but this list is getting me down.

If you keep missing sessions, we're gonna start to notice.
But, then again, noticing isn't our strong suit.

@George,
George, You'll probably notice--but forget that you noticed. Speaking of aging and forgetfulness, here's something to ponder. If I watched a tv show and don't remember it, is it a rerun if I watch it again? Kinda if a tree falls in the forest sort of thing.

I finally thought of something I miss that doesn't make me sad:

WOOLWORTH'S

It had all kinds stuff I need or could use, cheap. Now I gotta go to specialty shops to get what I want--and pay through the nose. So I don't go. Missing a buncha stuff.

@Roberta,
I remember the original woolworths, as I'm sure you do, Roberta. I was only there once.

@Roberta,
Of course.

I'm remembering the place when I was there in '50.
My interest at the time was about doll dresses. I can picture myself looking.
I take it that I got to see the original store - probably not known then as that so much as revered now.

Yeah, happens a bunch.

Sometimes I pick up a book I read many years ago and it's as if I'm
reading it for the first time but with occasional flashes of
remembrance.
