Texas has been responsible for half of America’s payroll gains between June 2009 and June 2011, with Texas adding 262,000 jobs.

State officials say that it is Perry’s pro-business climate that is enticing businesses to re-locate or start up in Texas. For example,

Texas does not have any state or corporate income taxes.

Regulations are low.

Texas has passed tort reform to limit frivolous lawsuits.

Texas consistently ranks at the top or near the top of best states for businesses and careers, meaning that it is friendly to business creation.

You really love conservative memes and doublespeak, don't you h20guy, but you despise honesty.

Child Poverty Hits 25 Percent In Texas, But Gov. Perry Still Proposing Deep Cuts To Child Services

By Pat Garofalo

After spending the last few years lecturing the country about how his supposedly “prudent fiscal decisions” stood in stark contrast to fiscal policy at the federal level, Gov. Rick Perry (R-TX) is being forced to grapple with a huge hole in his own state’s budget. At $27 billion (more than twice what Perry had expected it to be), the state’s deficit puts it about on par with California.
It isn’t only Perry that’s been holding out his state as a model of economic performance. The “Texas miracle” has long been touted by conservatives as a success of an economy that is low-tax, low-regulation, and low-social service. But as a new report from the Center for Public Policy Priorities noted, Texas’ child poverty rate is going through the roof, with nearly one in four children living beneath the poverty line:

Rick Perry: The Poor And Seniors Don’t Pay Enough In Taxes

By Pat Garofalo

Gov. Rick Perry (R-TX) jumped into the GOP presidential primary on Saturday, touting the largely-mythical “Texas miracle” to boost his economic bona fides. “We have led Texas based on some just really pretty simple guiding principles. One is don’t spend all of the money. Two is keeping the taxes low and under control,” Perry said during his announcement speech.
In fact, tax cuts were a constant theme during the speech. “We need lower taxes,” Perry said, later adding that “it is time to limit and simplify the taxes in this country.” However, it seems that Perry wants to raise taxes on at least one population — the working poor, seniors, and students who currently have no federal income tax liability:
We’re dismayed at the injustice that nearly half of all Americans don’t even pay any income tax. And you know the liberals out there are saying that we need to pay more. We are indignant about leaders who do not listen and spend money faster than they can print it.

@JTT,
There were no actual facts there, just a listing of points in which Perry is vulnerable.The Texas Miracle is that his unemployment os low. Its actually 8.4 % and the majority of the new employment sonce 2006 has been public job s like teachers and police etc.
As Texas grew rapidly since 2000, its percent fo public employees has kept pace and actually has exceeded the growth rate.

June 2009 - 11025327
June 2011 - 111225296
http://data.bls.gov/cgi-bin/dsrv

I only get 199,969 new jobs. Not quite the 262,000 you claimed spurt

And then the national new jobs over that time period is 709,000

So Texas isn't responsible for half the new jobs in that time period. It's a healthy 28% but why lie and tell us it's 50%?

@H2O MAN,

Update: ABC News Deputy Political Director Michael Falcone responds by telling Mediaite, “Perry was speaking about the economy when he said that. We stand by the accuracy of our quote.”

In the original ABC piece, the “big black clouds” quote was preceded by several quotes that were directed at President Obama, but were also about economic issues. Including the part of the quote that dealt with the debt would have greatly clarified Perry’s meaning. In fairness to Falcone, that doesn’t mean the omission was anything but an innocent editorial decision.

Update II: On his program tonight, Ed Schultz apologized for taking the clip out of context and played it in full.

The above, from your link. Let me guess, H2oman, you didn't read the article that you provided. Seems the "truth" is not exactly as you led everyone to believe.

Hmmmmm, that's so unlike you.
