@Zardoz,
I can't see China doing that.

Chinese soft power has made Canada, Europe and other Western powers view the country favourably.

A UK chamber of commerce was quizzed on the BBC. When asked if China was a more reliable trade partner than Trump's America he replied that it's been more reliable for the last decade.

Trump has accelerated the rest of the World's reluctance to trade with America. China is riding high, they're doing incredibly well without the need for military action.

And if China was to start fighting, it wouldn't be in the Middle East and Iran, it will be Taiwan.

@izzythepush,
We made a mistake in WWII we never dreamed in our wildest dream that Japan would stage a devastating preemptive strike against the United States. Man has never developed a weapon that they did not use. China is developing a military that will be superior to the United States. That Chinese military is not weapon that won't be used. World Domination is a dream that lived in every dictator's mind. China's new air crafter looks like something out of a si-fi movie, and it is no doubt is as far advanced as it looks. If you are just going to trade why waste trillions on a world class navy? It looks like Little Hitler is well on his way to take over the world a country at a time. He has two down and a few hundred to go. Alliances are formed in wars and China could easily join the war as an ally of Iran. They are not likely to sit back and watch Trump take over the world a country at a time.

We saw it coming, Churchill wasn't surprised.

Given your knowledge of Geography outside the US perhaps you should listen to the British, like Roosevelt should have done prior to Pearl Harbor..

@Zardoz,
And to be honest, I prefer Chinese domination to the American counterpart.

All the superpowers, Russia, China and America, are as bad as each other.

Don't get me wrong I'm not saying China isn't a threat, just that they're not likely to engage America militarily in Iran, not with Taiwan and the Phillipines on their radar.

@izzythepush,
The best time to take Hitler on was when he invaded Poland to wait and let him take over most of the continent was a mistake and cost millions more lives. Trump has already taken working control over Venezuela, tried to take Greenland and Cannada. He is starving Cuba to take control of it and now halfway around the world he is bombing elementary schools. The drunk that the idiot put in charge of defense department renamed it the Department of War. That tells you what the drunk wants to do with our military. Using the military for defense is one thing but having the stated purpose of it as making war is quite another thing.

@izzythepush,
When any one group dominates it will enslave the other groups. You need only look what Japan did to China during their occupation. Atrocities were the rule not the exception. We need a balance and little Hitler is threatening that balance

The best time to take on Hitler was when he remilitarised the Rhineland.

@izzythepush,
Now we are finding out that Iran is an ally of both Russia and China. They are allied with two of the biggest nuclear powers in the world. Iran is manufacturing the drones that are being used in the war in Ukraine. It is not a question of whether they will retaliate it is just a question of timing. The three Musketeers, the idiot, the war criminal and the drunk, have stepped in it now. England is our ally and if it were attacked, we would be duty bound to protect them.

@Zardoz,
Iran has been an ally of Russia and China for some time.

Trump asked Ukraine for help dealing with Iranian drones.

I doubt that Trump's America would help us.

I don't live in England any more, I live in Wales.

I miss hearing Gaenor Howells; I went on a search the other day to see if any of her old BBC World broadcasts were online but the were no links to the stories she covered – marvelous voice.

@hightor,
They don't sound like that up here.

That's the South Wales accent, they sound more like Scousers up here, (think the Beatles.)

@izzythepush,
Are regional accents sticking around? In the USA I've witnessed the decline of the local "downeast" accent over the past few decades. Other regional accents are disappearing as well. It's too bad, although I admit that I don't particularly care if I never hear a deep southern drawl again.

@hightor,
They still exist, but there has been some mixing.

The growth of 'Estuary English' has turned all the Thames valley to one accent.

Surrey and Sussex sounded a lot more rural pre WW2.

It's a long way from the Chauserian tale about people from one part of England asking for eggs in another part only to be told they don't talk French.

@hightor,
If you want to know what the North Wales accent sounds like watch Mammoth.

It's a BBC comedy series about a PE teacher frozen in a glacier in the 1970s and defrosted in the present century.

It's a gorgeous place to live, but I really don't appreciate it as I'm in the middle of decorating and moving stuff out of a lockup.

@izzythepush,
Russia has now entered the Iran war providing intelligence as where the US troops, ships and other military assets are located so they can be targeted. This is what being done above board.

The United States twice entered World Wars to aid it allies. If Russia and China don't defend Iran their alliance with any other country is worthless. Trump has the same attitude about countries he had about women pus*** they just let me do it because I am famous. Today the idiot claims Cuba will fall in a few days from his blockade of oil to the island.

@Zardoz,
The United States entered WW2 because of the attack on Pearl Harbor, not to help allies.

And Nazi Germany declared war on America, not the other way round.

You don't need to tell ne about Russia helping Iran. When Trump was asked about that by a Fox News correspondent he told them off for asking a stupid question.
