@izzythepush,
If they could have got close enough with a barrel of gasoline to a B1 bomber, they could have destroyed it but the security on a military base should have prevented any such attempt. Access to runway should have been tightly controlled not just to prevent sabotage but prevent accidents on the runway. Trump may have done this more for theater than prevention. Remember Trump said these people had been under surveillance for weeks. The trouble is that Trump tells a lie every three seconds and when you lie you must try and back up that lie up with another lie. When the men were let out on bail it left egg all over Trump's face. Pulling the B1 bombers makes the situation look much more serious.

@Zardoz,
They insist the decision is military, not political.

That's the problem with this administration, you can't believe anything that comes out of the Whitehouse/Pentagon.

Other administrations may have been economical with the truth but only Trump's tells such obvious lies.

@izzythepush,
Other countries have been hit because they helped the US in the war effort or housed US bases. The bombers would be a high-priority target for Iran since they had done so much damage to Iran. Iran could wage a drone attack and do a lot of damage. For them to move the bombers there must be some intelligence of a possible attack. Why take a chance when you don't have to. Trump may have blown an ongoing investigation by saying they had been watched for weeks.

It is also possible that Iran will retaliate against Great Brition for housing the bombers.

They could, but it wouldn't help their war effort.

The planes have gone, for now UK bases aren't being used.

Why risk changing that?

Iran is also at war with Israel, and the UK has sanctioned goods grown on illegal settlements and declared an arms export ban.

There are far better targets.

@izzythepush,
The BBC cites drone attacks by Ukraine deep into Russian territory as one of the reasons to move the bombers.

They are incredibly expensive, we're talking billions of dollars here, and they could be taken out by a thousand dollar drone.

@izzythepush,
The drones are changing warfare. Russia had a drone chasing a man around a car in Ukraine. The man survived. The frequencies that drone operate on can be jammed but in the Ukraine, they used cables on the drones for short distances so they could not be jammed. Certainly, multimillion dollar planes could be taken out far easier than sending planes to bomb the airport. We have not seen the civilian use of killer drones yet, but the mob could take out their competition in one drone strike.

Trump continues to try and buy the election. I got a letter yesterday from the treasury department telling me that they would match my contributions to my retirement account up to a $1,000. The timing within a month of the midterm election. The republicans keep telling us social security is going broke even though billions are paid in each week by American workers, but they will hand billions that would go into private bank and make the banks billions. Isn't funny when it comes to social security, Medicare, and Medicaid America cannot afford them, but when it comes to paying each adult $5,000 to vote republican there is plenty of money. Trump also offered to pay another $5,000 after the federal employees were laid off an another $2,000 to make up for tariff payments. You now understand why Trump went bankrupt nine times.

@izzythepush,
It's actually a game-changer, isn't it – the USA has invested billions in infrastructure and easily ten times more in foreign aid (including bribes and under-the-table payoffs) to establish over 750 military bases around the world in 80 different countries. I don't think it would be that difficult for our adversaries to coordinate large-scale simultaneous drone attacks in widely-separated locations around the globe, eventually forcing Uncle Sam to move everything back home – soldiers, staff, warships, aircraft, armor, and missiles. It will require an entirely new defense policy.

@hightor,
The nature of warfare has changed forever when a $2,000 drone could destroy a $100 million dollar bomber it has turned everything upside down. The technology that gave us drones is just in its infancy we can't imagine what is coming in the future. A ground drone could be designed to cross a battlefield with a load of explosives and destroy the enemy. It is funny how the SIFI movies have a way of coming true. In one a robot drove people around. I drove my nephews Tesla and then it drove me. It is hard to sit there with your hands in your lap and your foot off the pedal while the car negotiates busy intersections. It only made one mistake it parked in a handicap parking place when we got to Hooters.

Trump is harping that he didn't get Nobel Peace prize yet again. Trump harped so bad after he lost last year that the woman that got it gave him her prize. Trump started a war bombed and killed the leaders of a country that we had a treaty with Iran until Trump killed the treaty. Trump killed two hundred school children during the bombing. Trump used negotiating with Iran as ruse to wipe out the leadership of Iran.

Trump thinks he should get the Nobel Prize after that that demonstrates how mentally ill, he really is. The World Court should convict him as a war criminal and have him arrested.

One Florida attorney actually filed a petition in court to have Trump declared incompetent. He listed 200 reasons why Trump should be found incompetent. Many of those reasons were mental problems that the best psychiatrist in America concurred with. This attorney made a living having people declared incompetent, so the attorney knew his trade. The petition failed during Trump's first term but was appealed and now there is much more evidence that Trump is far worse today. No doubt the men in the little white coats are on high alert nets at the ready.

Trump was so obsessed with Obama that he tried to undo everything that Obama did while in office. One of those things was the treaty with Iran that regulated Iran's nuclear development. The treaty was working with regular inspections. Trump in trying to ruin Obama legacy did away with the treaty and set out to destroy Iran's economy with sanctions. Iran's reaction was predictable they increased their productions of nuclear material. Trump started an unnecessary war that is spreading across the Middle East. Saudia Arabia is now under attack by the Houthi blowing up an airport and killing 13. We have thousands of Americans in Saudia Arbia how long before the Houthi start using them for target practice. This war was a predictable product of Trump's paranoia.

In World War II Germany the psychiatrists were well aware that Hitler suffered from mental illness, but they decided they should stay out of politics. We all know what happens when good people do nothing. Six million people died because of the mental illness of one man.

"Max Webber (1917) argued that intellectuals and scholars should not utter political opinions or say anything that could be regarded "partisan" They could talk about politics in general, but they could not say anything that could be taken as support for or opposition to any particular party or politician."

Max Weber was a brilliant German intellectual who was extremely influential.

When the experts in any field have their hands tied behind their back it puts the public at risk.

Trump had a question, "What is the point of having thermonuclear weapons is if we can't use them?" If you have to ask that question you won't understand the answer. In an interview with Chris Mattews on n MSNBC townhall meeting, Trump said, "Someone hits within ISIS, you would not fight back with a nuke?

One psychiatrist believes that the issue is not mental illness rather than dangerousness. Psychiatrist would not have to specify a specific mental illness but point out that a political candidate is dangerous and point out the specific reasons why they believe the candidate is dangerous. The position of president can endanger every American in a second. There was already a report that Trump tried to nuke Iran and was stopped by the military. Trump has made no doubt that he would nuke Iran saying, "there would be nothing left but glowing sand." The mentally ill may be entertaining but they are also dangerous. While one may dismiss the wild remarks of an ordinary person the wild remarks of a mentally ill person should not be dismissed so easily.

Trump, during one of his stump speeches, now says he has put J D Vance in charge of the Iran war. Trump has made a total and complete mess of the Iran war which he never should have started in the first place. Now Trump can avoid the blame and blame Vance for the quagmire. I don't believe that the vice president is in the military chain of command he is only there in case something happens to the president. Vance name being tied to Iraq quagmire will end his political future. It is like Trump putting an anchor around Vance's neck and pushing him overboard and saying swim.

Trump has finally acknowledged that no matter how the election turns out he will have two more years left in his term. Previously Trump had told his followers that if the democrats won the midterm, he would be impeached. Trump finally figured out that his popularity rating is only at 38 meaning that 62% of Americans are likely to vote against him. Trump's endorsement is more likely to hurt a candidate than help so Trump is restricting his campaigning to strong red states. Trump refuses to believe that he is severely unpopular his ego won't let him it has to be fake polls.

My sister-in-law's granddaughter is a beautician and spends her time putting false eyelash on. She ordered eyelash from a foreign country when they arrived, she was asked to pay $600 in Trump tariff charges. Trump says tariffs don't cost Americans anything. Who are you going to believe Trump or your lying check book.

Trump's tariffs were intended to replace the income tax. The tariffs would have shifted most of the taxes to middle class and all but eliminate the taxes on the ungodly greedy.

Trump at the least shows some bipolar tendencies when he loses the Midterms, and that seems likely he will either fall into a deep depression or go on a manic rampage after his enemies. He will claim the elections were rigged. He will have no proof just like before. You can clearly see his manic rampage when he was buying a hotel for much more than what it was worth. Buying three casinos in the same town and going into business against himself was an extremely bad judgement. The manic rampage ended in nine bankruptcy which about destroyed three major banks. Why did this not recur? Trump's medical records are private. Was he medicated to handle his problem? Manic rampages do reoccur without medical intervention and the fact that Trump was absolutely bonkers for a period of time and then made a U-turn indicates he may have got help. Trump bought a huge yacht an airline, a football team during this time period also. People are very drawn to manic depressive when they are on a high and can easily be taken in which may explain why the three banks exercised poor judgement.

Trump has accused others of treason without reason but now members of Trumps own party have leveled the same charge against him but this time they may have a case. Congress has imposed economic sanctions against Russia in an effort to stop Russia from continuing their war against Ukraine. Several other countries also imposed sanctions also. This was effort to stop Russia from using oil money to pay for the Ukraine war. Trump violated the sanctions against Russia to cover up for the Iran quagmire that he created. Trump deal with Russia will only supply a day's worth of diesel fuel for a day. That is clearly treason and after the deal was done the internet that Ukraine depends on for its defense was shut down by America. Evidently there were aspect to the deal that was not made public.

"Donald Trump has no shame. Trump and his daughter Ivanka were on the Wendy Willamson Show. Wendy asked Ivanka what she had in common with her dad? She said golf and real estate. When Trump was asked the same question, I was going to say sex, but I can't relate that to"... gesturing toward Ivanka. "

Who thinks that way about their daughter? There are many other remarks Trump made about his daughter. Trump being interviewed on the Howard Stern show "I have said that if Ivanka was not my daughter, perhaps I'd be dating her." Ivanka was 22 at the time.

"In another appearance on the Howard Stern radio show in response to Stern saying. "By the way your daughter ... "Trump reported she's beautiful." Stern added", "Can I say this?" A piece of ass", to which said Trump replied, "Yeah."

That radio show is a national show you would think the least Trump could have done is walked out but no doubt that is the way Trump thinks of women.
