In America we have two problems one is drug dealers, and the others is guns pushers. Gun rights have been around since the beginning of the union. But the NRA heralded the age of gun pushing. The NRA money put things out of balance. Many think, of the NRA as ass a grass roots organization but it is not it is controlled and financed by the gun manufacturers. The NRA has one reason to exist and that is to make bigger and bigger profits for the gun manufactures. They don't care how many school children are killed the AR-15s are high profit items.

We are getting closer to the bottom of the Epstein operation. Ghislaine Maxwell admitted to a reporter that there are indeed tapes of Trump that Epstein recorded. What will Trump say now? He will say it was actor made up to look like him. Maxwell knows the tapes were made but she doesn't where they are now and yet Trump had people going to churches across the country accusing Biden as a child molester. Epstein's operation is consistent with operations that have been run by the CIA and KBG that is how they get control of people.

We no longer need worry about freedom of speech in America we need to worry about freedom of thought. The posts on the internet are basically just thoughts that are written down. People don't spend a lot of time researching them, they are spur of the moment. But the new thought police are not the `government, they are the businessmen who now fire people for posting something they don't agree with. They are making the American people slaves to their way of thinking. When someone is terminated for something, they said or wrote on the internet on their own time it should be overturned by the courts. The employer pays for only 8 hours day if someone has an unpopular thought and writes it down on their off time people don't have to agree to it.

I had never heard of Charlie Kirk before he was killed, and I am just now learning who he was. The shooter had to decide that he would trade his life for Kirk's. The facts are coming out slowly, but the shooter had a relationship with a transexual male. The right is always looking for someone to discriminate against. Since blacks are now off limits, they needed a new scape goat. Transsexuals and gays are not assured equal rights under the law. That makes them the new blacks. Kirk was leading the charge in the fight against the gays and transexuals. The Trump administration fired all the transexuals from the military and cheated those were eligible for early retirement out of their retirement. No doubt there were suicides after they lost careers. Kirk was champion of 2,000-year-old ignorance. Kirk believed that having a penis or a vagina determined the sexuality of the individual. There is not on brain cell in a penis or a vagina. The sexuality of an individual is determined brain and does not have to match sexual equipment. The brain is complex and tells not to think of as a single instrument but an orchestra. The penis does not tell the brain what to do, the brain tells the penis what to.

When you are bound by the belief that God makes no mistakes you have never seen a nursery where babies are born with their hearts outside their chest or without a brain. Yes, God makes mistakes and plenty of them. When your knowledge is frozen 2,000 years ago it makes it worse than garbage in garbage out.

@Region Philbis,
That is a popular folk saying but in reality, you can't blame the penis. The eyes must see, and the mind decide until the penis has eyes you can't blame it.

I grew up in an America where the saying was, "I don't agree with what you have to say but I will die to protect your right to say it" and 100,000s of American have done just that. My uncle and namesake died in the Battle Bulge during WWII to make sure I would have that right. Along comes this draft dodger and tries to take that right away. Millions of gallons of American blood was used up to protect that right.

Now the Attorney General, Pam Bondi, tells us hate speech will not be tolerated. Who decides what is hate speech? People are being encouraged to turn in fellow employees to their employers if they don't like what was posted. Sounds like the communists or Nazis who turned in each other. The communist party in America picked your wife so they would have an informer in your house.

It is clear what the motive was. People who openly promote hate against gays are often in the closet and openly attack other for what they can't deal with themselves.

@Zardoz,
It's about having a scapegoat to blame which lets the powers that be off the hook.

In Medieval times it was Jewish people.

@izzythepush,
It is grounds to go after anybody that was different. Like Hitler said the intellect of the great masses is small but their power to forget is enormous. The typical fellow you meet on the streets believes everybody is just like them. If you are different, they will cut you out of the herd. When I was young the homosexuals stayed hidden. I was running track when I first encountered a gay male, and they made his life miserable. I had a secretary and her boyfriend who would beat up gays on the weekend. She was a fine Christian woman was just doing the bidding of gospel. One gay was beat up so bad that he was badly brain damaged. After all gays are an abomination according to the bible.

We all have the freedom to not read any post we don't agree with, but the Trump administration is trying to make sure you don't have the right to post anything they don't like. We are all adults, and some posts may hurt your feelings but to destroy free speech in America because some people's feelings may be hurt is foolish.

I put conmen like Trump in jail or prison and when I die, I would not care if they all had a party and used every bad name they could think of in posts. It would not bother me, and my wife would not read it. Instead of telling Kirk's wife not to read the posts, Trump and company are taking the free speech rights from 330 million Americans. Let's change the world for the hate monger's wife.

I watched part of Trump's press conference in Great Briton when one of the reporters bought up that 12to 13 thousand people were jailed each year for their posts. The prime minster tried to cover it up saying that they were pedophiles. He tried to say that they had free speech. That will give Trump ideas.

Free speech is much easier to lose than many might think. I had posted on a local board for over ten years. Someone with money bought it and every post was nonsense. When I was transferred to police department I was talking to couple of employees who were transferred before I was. When I bought up posting they said they were told by the police brass that they could not post anything They had to take a lie detector test also. The local board had been made up of policemen, firemen, and city hall employee. I never missed a post because I was already posting on this board. The city is part of the government and has to grant you free speech. A court case would have reversed that ruling. The easiest way to corrupt a government is to let it operate in the dark.

@Zardoz,
I don't know where you got that figure from.

It's total bollocks.

A handful of people have been arrested for hate speech.

On Wednesday night Channel 4 ran a 3 hour programme exposing Trump's lies.

In America Jimmy Kimmel was sacked for quoting Charlie Kirk.

That's what free speech looks like.

And I will not take any lessons from ignorant Americans on the subject.

And you are ignorant, or you would not have quoted such a ridiculous figure.

Get your facts right.

@izzythepush,
The response about paedophiles concerned the Online Safety Act which is about stopping kids accessing pornography.

It's got nothing to do with free speech.

Please get your facts right before you post.

It's so annoying trying to work out where your bullshit ideas come from before I can correct you.

As far as free speech goes, there weren't any questions about Graham Linehan or Lucy Connolly the two cause celebres of the far right.

Connolly was jailed after calling for migrant hotels to beset on fire, inciting violence.

Linehan was arrested and questioned, he has not been jailed, the case is still open.

I have a thread on Will Self's article about the fetishisation of free speech.

Anything taken to an absolute is wrong, and free speech in America means truth and lies are given equal status.

Hate speech should never be protected which is why people have been jailed for it.

In America people lose their jobs for criticising Charlie Kirk.

**** like that doesn't happen over here.

You used to have a thing called the Fairness Doctrine which meant topics had to be presented fairly with input from both sides.

This operated since WW2 with no problems until Reagan abolished it, paving the way for Fox News et al.

That's where your problems lie, and it's an American problem.

The only argument for hate speech is 'free speech,' and if that's the only argument it's no argument.

Hate speech should not be protected.

If you really want to talk about free speech in the UK, instead of echoing Vance's "chilling attacks on free speech" lamenting right wing hate peddlars legal difficulties you could look at the proscription of Palestine Action as a terrorist movement.

Palestine Action is a non violent direct action group, people have been arrested under terrorist legislation for holding placards that say, "I oppose genocide. I support Palestine Action."

@izzythepush,
That bit about 12-13000 people jailed every year has been around for a while, as in this story from last year, “Think before you post”. In a press conference, it's a clever technique because the reporter gets to spread propaganda in the form of a question and Trump is definitely not going to fact check the statement.

Look at this crap:
Quote:
Western civilization appears to be on the cusp of a new Dark Age — for any government that arrests and locks up its own citizens for saying, writing, or thinking the “wrong” opinions or beliefs can no longer say it stands for freedom or human rights.

Last year they were touting "free speech", this year they're shutting down comedians.

@hightor,
And Zardoz is repeating this nonsense as fact.

I don't know what he claims to have seen, but if Starmer was asked about such a figure he'd say it was crap, not go on about paedophiles.

Zardoz has a habit of doing this, he sees something, goes half cock based on assumptions and other nonsense and this is what happens.

It's like Fox News claiming parts of Birmingham are no go areas.

I don't mind debating stuff as long as we're dealing with reality not assumptions and half-baked ideas based on ignorance.

@izzythepush,
I watched Trump's press conference on NBC and that is a very accurate report of what was said. The question from the reporter was that 12 to 13 thousand people were jailed each year for posting. The Prime Minster tried to deflect the question by saying that people being jailed were for being pedophiles.

I try to stick to the facts and if you can get a copy of the press conference you will understand that. It is very clear you did not watch the press conference, but you want to make up what you think might have been said.

I will agree if you see it on Fox News it was a lie. If the commentators on Fox News refuse to lie they are terminated.

It is clear you imagined what the reply to question at the press conference. reply
