"Congress not the president has the constitutional authority to raise taxes--and tariffs are of course taxes placed on imports."
from the internet article: "The Real Reason Trump is Destroying the Economy"
I lived through much of our manufacturing being shipped overseas. These were American companies that moved overseas had nothing to do with tariffs. It was and still is dirt cheap labor. Most of the big businessmen saw labor cost were less than a dollar and hour overseas and they could increase their profits 10 times. They could sell the same product over here at the same price and reduce their labor cost by double digits. Sure, they will come back to America when we agree to work for a $1 an hour. The tariffs will not bring them back butt we will have to pay much more for their products. Of course, all that extra money we pay will go into Trump's pocket to pay for his $4.6 trillion tax cut for his billionaire friends.

Millions protested Trump today world-wide. Trump is now the most unpopular man in the world. Protestors even lined the street of Huntington a state that voted 70% for Trump. The republicans in the House are rushing full speed ahead to pass the $4.6 trillion tax cut for billionaires. They know the bottom is falling out and if they don’t get it done quickly, they won’t be able to it. The republicans can’t lay off enough Federal employees to pay for the $4.6 trillion tax cut so they have no choice but to cut social security and Medicare.

Now the people that voted for Trump are claiming they were duped. They were duped because they refused to use common sense. They knew Trump had told 30,0000 verifiable lies in his first term but continued to believe the most preposterous lies during his campaign. Lies like if you are a policeman or in the military you will no longer have to pay income tax. I will stop the war Ukraine on day one. I will stop inflation and bring prices down on day one. You can't blame Trump he has prefrontal dementia and is not responsible for what he is doing but I blame you for voting for him. You just can't cop out and say I was dupped.

Trump is now telling reporters not to bring that up again. Nero played his fiddle while Rome burnt, Trump is playing golf while the retirement savings are going up in flames. Trump says the pain will be temporary, but did you ever see prices go down after they went up? There is nothing temporary about it. Trump promised that prices would go down when he got to be president can you think of any price that went down?
When you do a scientific experiment, you have to eliminate all the different variables. There are many reasons that companies moved out of the United States and chief among them is labor costs. Why do you think all the companies moved to Mexico? The cost of labor. That and the republicans have stopped the country from solving the medical insurance problem. Toyota was offered $500 million to build a new plant in America. They turned it down and built in Canada siting the fact we had not settled our medical cost. According to the big three the most expensive cost of a car is medical insurance.

Trump has anew nick name, they are calling him Gump Trump after he backed down on the tariffs he slapped on other countries. The House passed Trump's $4.6 trillion tax cut for the ultra-wealthy. If the stock market continued to crash the republicans would have a hard time getting the $4.6 trillion tax cut through the senate. They plan to use reconciliation to get it through that way it would only require 51 votes to get it through.

There is an interesting article on the internet today. The article states that Trump is guilty of extortion. The village idiot likes extortion and that was at the heart of his first impeachment. If the Ukraine did not conduct an investigation of Hunter Biden, then the village idiot would refuse to give them any of the military aid. Trump has using extortion to force others to implement his political agenda. He is going after law firms who were part took part in his prosecution. He then demands that they implement his personal political agenda. He even used extortion to dictate who could participate in high school sports in Maine.
Trump was raised in mob hang out listening to all the stories of gangsters. "You have a nice law firm there; it would be a shame if something happened to it. Trump dad had to use his mob connections to get property rezoned so he could develop it.

It was bound to happen, one day Trump would slip up and tell the truth. Yesterday Trump said "he could care less" and you know what I believe him. Trump only cares about himself. If Americans lose their retirement Trump could care less. If Americans have to pay $5,000 more for a car, Trump could care less.

Have you noticed the temporary pain Trump talked about has already started? A bag of Hershey chocolate was raised by 22% last week. Anybody that believes that the price increases are temporary is sadly mistaken. When oil goes up the prices of gas at the pump are raised that day even though there is a lot of lower cost gasoline in the pipelines. The theory is that they will have to purchase higher priced gas, and they will need to make that purchase money from their current supply. We will be looking at a lot of price increase even though the tariffs are on hold. They will need to raise prices in order to purchase goods that have tariffs applied.

The number one rule in politics is: "Don't mess with people's money." Trump is doing exactly that; he manipulated the stock market so many people sold their stock as the prices fell and Trump's billionaire friends picked up the stock at bargain basement prices and made billions. Trump than bragged about how much money his billionaire friends made. As for the Trump tariffs hurting the working man, "Trump said, he could care less." I wonder how long Trumpies can keep making excuses for him. He is very clear how he feels about them; he could care less.

One of the first thing a dictator does is to take the power of the courts. Now the republicans are trying to pass a bill that would take the judicial power away from "rogue judges." Who isa rogue judge, any judge that rules against Trump. Judges don't rule against people cases are decided on points of law. The law would prevent a judge's ruling from going nationwide. The ruling would only be valid in their jurisdiction. We have 670 judges, and the law would be different all over the country. They also want to eliminate injunctions. The air head Trump has for press secretary thinks that court should have no say over anything Trump does. She makes Marjorie Green look like a genius.

Trump hates the IRS it took years to audit Trump's taxes and find out he paid almost no taxes. Baby Bush told the IRS to focus on the poor, those who were getting childcare credits. Why? If the IRS spent all its time on the poor, they would not have any time to audit the rich. Trump has another approach he is going to get rid of enough IRS agents so it will be impossible to audit the rich. Can you imagine how many IRS agents and accounts it would take to audit Musk's books and since he is the richest man in the world you would think he would pay plenty of income tax, but Musk pays no income tax at all. Biden had beefed up the IRS to make the rich pay something, but Trump wants to make sure the rich never have to pay a cent.

The village idiot's popularity rating went down 11% since March. It looks like at least dome of the people who voted for the village idiot have begun to wake up. The village idiot said he would stop inflation on day one now is going to cause inflation of 25% and he says he could care less and that is the truth.

Trump finally made public the real reason for his tariffs. Taking us back to the 1800s when tariffs were the sole source of income for the country. Trump will gladly trade with you. He will give you 25% tariffs for your 7% effective income tax. What a deal little boy I will trade you this nice sucker for your bike, it is a hell of deal. Those on social security won't even get a sucker they will just get a 25% increase in the things they buy. There are always winners and losers and the rich only spend a tiny fraction of what they earn they effectively pay little to no tax.
The village idiot has not noticed that the federal government was tiny in the 1800s, there was no interstate highway system or huge military to be paid for. Trump claims to be taking in 1 to 2 billion a day in tariffs but that is chump change compared to the $7 trillion federal budget. But if Trump offered his cult members a donut for their car, they take it in a minute and tell what a fine deal Trump gave them.

The village idiot is trying to be banana republic dictator or at least the imitation of one. Now Trump is dictating that 50,000 government civil service workers will become at will employee. Civil service employees are the grunts of government employees. The village idiot wants to make these jobs patronage jobs. The village idiot now lies that the janitors are making government policy so Trump should be able to replace them at will.
The patronage system was one of the most corrupt system 19th century. In patronage system government jobs are handed out as a reward for helping people get elected. If you help somebody get elected, you might get 5 jobs that you could hand out. Say Joe help you get elected, he does not want the job, but he has a nephew who can't hold a job that needs one. The nephew is not going to work, and he will tell you how he got the job, and you can't touch him he is a political employee. We had one that his parents called to make sure he was home in 15 minutes. One day at work he stuck his penis in a woman's window he was not fired but moved to city hall. Political employees have nine lives.

Trump believes that he can defy gravity, after all gravity is just a law and we all known that Trump breaks every law. The law of supply and demand however is not something even Trump can break. When Trump uses his tariffs to increase the price of a car by $5,000 what does the law of supply and demand say will happen? If price goes up demand goes down. There is no way for Trump to cheat that law. If fewer cars are sold there are fewer jobs for auto workers.
The America auto cowponies were responsible for their own demise. When I was at Marshall in the late 60s there were very few foreign cars on American roads. What changed that? They built junk and cried that it was patriotic to buy American cars. While I was racing, I worked as a mechanic for the city police department so I could have access to a machine shop. We purchased several new Ford Cruisers. Within days of being put on the street they would stop running. We would have to replace filter and that was good for a day. The cars were taken back dealer, and they found out the gas tanks had been left out in the weather at factory and were full of rust. When I purchased my first foreign car, I could not believe the difference in quality. I took hundreds of American cars from cradle to grave. In the 90s after the American car companies lost a good deal of business they finally tried to improv the quality of American cars. Let's face it when you drive down the street and the fuel tank falls, off you look for a better car.

I read a book last year called the "Fair Tax." Bills in Washington are usually named the opposite. It was basically a national sales tax that was meant to replace the income tax. The rich's percentage of taxes would go way down, and the middle-class percentage of taxes would go up. They could not pass it but spent millions trying to. Sales tax is a consumer-based tax, The village idiot's tariffs are a consumer-based tax. You will be taxed on what you consume. Buy a new car and you will be taxed $5,000. You will pay 25% more for clothes and shoes. Every time you made a purchase you would be paying more tax. With sales tax it is itemized 0nyour receipt. But in a tax based on tariffs you will have no idea how much tax you are paying because the tariffs will be part of the purchase price. You can't regulate a system like that because you will never know how much tax you are paying. The cost of tariffs should be itemized so you know how much tax you are paying. I once looked at a Dodge Challenger but when I looked at the sticker it included a $5,000 gas guslar tax. I could not imagine paying $5,000 a gas guslar tax. I wonder how many people would buy a car that the sticker had a $5,000 tariff charge?

Trump's popularity ratings have gone negative. Can you imagine how negative his ratings are going to be when the tariffs began to raise prices. It is like the comedy skit who is on first. Trump has changed the tariffs so many times nobody has any idea what the tariffs are on and what is exempt and what will have a tariff on it. What tariffs have been put off 90 days. Everybody is confused and you can't run a business when you have no idea what your inventory is going to cost but the village idiot loves chaos when people are confused is the best time steal.

In this country we believe an education is so important that we require children to go to school by law. But when it comes to the most important part of their education, we are making it unaffordable. If some teenager asked to borrow $300,000, he would be laughed out of the bank. He has no collateral and no job, but the banks will line up to loan the money for school. Why? the government backs the loans. An educated population benefits everyone. We have a responsibility to educate the next generation. Third world countries do a better job educating their population. You would think politicians would be ashamed of that, but they aren't they just want more money for tax cuts for the rich.
