I don't think "never" is quite correct. At any rate the Canadian Navy doesn't operate the same way, with the same large ships, and in the same distant oceans as does the U.S. Navy.

Canada never had a stupid policy of "Don't ask, don't tell".. In 1992 they were allowed to openly serve and to my knowledge it's never been a problem. Maybe you could make up a story to 'prove' your point.
